Clive Owen Already Contemplating Shoot 'Em Up 2
Craving more depraved action?

Shoot 'Em Up doesn't even open until September but star Clive Owen is already thinking about a possible sequel. Writer/director Michael Davis has written a script that would go if the first one is a success and Owen's already taken a look.

"On my life, it makes [Shoot 'Em Up] look like kids television," said Owen of the proposed screenplay. "I honestly don’t think he’ll get it past the censors. That’s how ridiculous it is."

Shoot 'Em Up plays with the action genre, enjoying the comedy of outrageous acts of violence, with one memorable scene combining sex and gunplay. That’s nothing compared to the sequel.

"The merging of sex and violence in the next one is verging on porn," teased Owen.

So go see Shoot 'Em Up to support Owen and Davis’ efforts to further subvert the action genre. "We’ll see how this one goes," said Owen.

Shoot 'Em Up arrives in theaters September 7.  Meanwhile, check out our Comic-Con impressions.

Shoot 'Em Up looks brilliant fun, I don't see how it could possibly go wrong.

I saw Micheal Davis at Comicon. Boy, what an odd character.

So I guess Clive Owen doesn't die in the first one.

blink----its hollywood bra...he could die and come back as a zombie. or gulp...a PREQUEL! "who really IS...this kid savin' guy?" kinda thing. love owen, he's up there with Bale and McGregor in my book of fav actors. the only thing i am iffy about is Giamati in this. sorry, i can't look at him and not see him trying to throw a bottle of merlot at the guy. i'm STILL stumped on the ridiculous overhype that was Sideways...that movie was god awful

Sideways was excellent and not overhyped at all. If any film was overhyped that year it was Million Dollar Baby, still a good film, but not as beautifully performed and enjoyable as Sideways. Besides I have never seen Giamatti give a poor performance and am expecting another great one alongside Owen.

Paul Giamatti is a really under-rated actor in my opinion. I don't even think he sees himself as good of an actor as others see him. He's got a lot of character in his face, the kind of face that you can take seriously but also laugh if he's being humorous. That line in the trailer where he says "God, either we really SUCK or he's really that good" made me laugh every time I hear it.

Giamatti is a great actor. But I didn't find Sideways funny though, there was maybe one bit in that movie that I laughed at.

I can't wait for this film. Go Owen!!!

It looks pretty sweet, so hopefully it is, does well and we get this one. And Giamatti is a great actor who I'm really looking forward to seeing in this movie. Him being kinda fat and not a hollywood hunk and still getting starring roles showes how good he is, which is nice to see.

I can't wait for this movie, but sadly I don't see it becoming a hit. Not too many people I talk to seem to be aware of it, unlike say 300. I hope I'm proven wrong though.

Hold on, hold on. A sequel is in the works for film made in September that we don't know if it is going to bomb? Sounds risky.

sorry but i stand by my words, Sideways was WAY overhyped and it was horrible. i think i laughed once, during the Fing merlot speech. that was IT. it was bad all around, LITERALLY everything was terrible in the movie. the story, the characters...everything. thats why i was so shocked after i saw it to know people, like yourself, rave so much about it. EVERYBODY i know that saw it thought the same thing, it was bad. just another one of those 2001 Space Odyssey type movies. one half thinks its amazing...the other half thinks its complete garbage.

I haven't actually seen "Sideways", although I've been told to on multiple occasions, but I will definitely be in attendance for this one. It looks like it has the potential to be one of the best actions films of the year. But we shall see...
