Later, this became the Francis Ford Coppola-produced THX-1138, starring Robert Duval and Donald Pleasance. The short is an abstraction of the same theme that would later inform the feature: a cold, dark future wherein humans relate more to machines than each other. Another highlight is FIVE FEET HIGH AND RISING, the award-winning film by Peter Sollett about life and love in a New York barrio. Also on this disk: Oscar-winning short THE FLY; Sundance selections BURNOUT and STILL REVOLUTIONARIES; PO MO KNOCK KNOCK, THE BOTTOMLESS CUP, DELIRIOUSPINK, KEBABALUBA, and three shorts created exclusively for this release.
