McShane to Provide Voices for "Shrek 3" and "Kung Fu Panda"

Summary

You might not expect the actor who plays the stunningly vulgar Al Swearengen to be a good fit for family programming, but the DreamWorks crew has other ideas for Ian McShane. The unpleasant head of "Deadwood" will be stepping into the voice booths for both "Shrek 3" and "Kung Fu Panda." Back to Article

having watch deadwood religiously, mchane's character while vulgar, is actually kinda funny. he has some of the best lines and his voice would be a perfect fit for capt. hook

I can imagine some hollywood writer or producer so detached from the general public would actually think this would be a good idea. They then get their big break and use their connections to turn this idea into a potential project, dealing with a cast of characters who also can't think of anything fresh. Then someone with creativity and vision turns this around and makes the movie tolerable. Yeah, I don't think the last part is going to happen.

Jesus Christ people, it's a goddamn kids movie. They're supposed to be ridiculous. Spongebob Squarepants anyone? Now back to the actual TOPIC.

McShane rules and is perfect voice casting for a villain.

I have to say, the only reaosn I would watch Kung Fu Panda (God knows it's not for Jack Black) is for McShane.
