Rush Hour 3 Takes '07 DVD Rental Crown
It may not have been quite the box-office phenomenon that its predecessors were -- and critics may have disliked it enough to keep it down at 20 percent on the Tomatometer -- but that didn't stop Rush Hour 3 from emerging as the top DVD rental of 2007.

Box Office Guru Wrapup: "Pirates" #1, "Knocked Up" Strong #2
Disney still claimed the most popular film in the land with "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" despite a drop that was sizable even by tentpole standards. Universal generated a stronger than expected debut for its new adult comedy "Knocked Up" which pushed its way into the runnerup spot sending Shrek the Third down to third in weekend number three.

It's not all that uncommon for new directors to step in on well-established series, but the "new guy" isn't usually someone known for live-action features...

Banderas Denies "Sin City 2" Gig
Just because he's worked with Robert Rodriguez a half-dozen times already, that doesn't mean Antonio Banderas is a lock to appear in "Sin City 2" -- despite what recent rumors have been suggesting.

RT-UK Exclusive: Edit Suite Report and New Pics for "Stardust"
In an otherwise unremarkable office building in London's trendy Soho, the clichés are out in force; magic is being made, fantasies are coming to life and dreams are being realised. It may be marketing agencies, new media designers and ad companies in the vicinity, but on the second floor of this particular building a small group of people are putting the finishing touches to "Stardust", one of Paramount's late summer tent-pole releases, and perhaps the most ambitious film ever to be made in Britain.

Take a Peek at the Brand New "Shrek 3" Poster
Yeah, so it's only a poster, I know. But franchises don't get a whole lot bigger than the "Shrek" one, so it only stands to reason that people are interested in the promotional materials. (At least I think so.)

AICN: "Meet The Robinsons" Blissfully Flatulence Free
It certainly hasn't been the spring's most-hyped animated offering, but Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" is still on track for a March 30 release, and an advance screening of the studio's latest kid-friendly feature -- bolstered by voicework from Angela Bassett, Adam West, and Tom Selleck, among others -- has just received a more-or-less glowing review from Ain't it Cool News (and we all know how harshly critical that crew can be).

Box Office in 2006 a Big Boost Over 2005
Remember when everyone wouldn't shut up about the box office "slump" in 2005? Well, that story is now a distant memory. The 2006 domestic box office was up 5.5% over 2005 ... and that's a lot of money.

Second Trailer for "Shrek the Third"
May 2007 looks like it could be an absolute record-smasher, and DreamWorks' "Shrek the Third" is poised to be one of the big heavy hitters. Not that we needed an extra promotional clip to psych the kids up (three months early!) but there's a brand-new trailer that might be worth checking out.

First Pic of Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow Senior!
Johnny Depp used him as inspiration for "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." He was supposed to pop up in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," but didn't. And now he's guaranteed to appear in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." We now have a picture to prove it!

New Peeks at Spidey 3 and Pirates 3!
It really stinks to have to sit and wait for movies like these ones, but as long as we keep getting a constant string of posters, trailers, set pics and photo galleries, we're happy. Actually we're not, but we'll take what we can get, right?

Test Screener Sees "Shrek 3" and Kinda Likes It!
Here we go with another test-screening semi-review, even though the reporter plainly states his version of "Shrek the Third" was only about 40% animated. (Plus, here's what I want to know: Why does a movie like "Shrek Part 3" need to be test-screened?? The first two flicks made stadium-sized moneybags!)

Time to Start Thinking About "Shrek 4"
With "Shrek the Third" only about six months away, it's only logical that this news would hit the wire: Production on "Shrek 4" will begin sooner than later ... although the flick won't hit theaters until 2010. (2010??!!?)

"Spidey 3," "Shrek 3," and "Pirates 3" -- Get Ready for Summer '07
The article we're about to read is about eight days old, but it seems like a rather fun topic of discussion, so let's do it anyway. As far as Summer '07 is concerned, what's your pick: "Spider-Man 3," "Shrek the Third," or "Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End"?

"Shrek 3" and "Happy Feet" Promo Clips Are "Stunning"
Two of the more eagerly anticipated animated films right now are George Miller's "Happy Feet" and, of course, DreamWorks' "Shrek the Third." A pair of separate reports have popped up recently, so we thought it'd make sense to share some of the "promo clip reviews." (Silly, I know, but we do what we can until the goods are made public.)

McShane to Provide Voices for "Shrek 3" and "Kung Fu Panda"
You might not expect the actor who plays the stunningly vulgar Al Swearengen to be a good fit for family programming, but the DreamWorks crew has other ideas for Ian McShane. The unpleasant head of "Deadwood" will be stepping into the voice booths for both "Shrek 3" and "Kung Fu Panda."

Katzenberg Divulges the "Shrek 3" Plot
Comingsoon.net's Edward Douglas attended a "Madagascar" press event, and it was there that DreamWorks' co-head honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg spilled some extensive beans regarding the plot of "Shrek 3." How's this sound? "When 'Shrek 3' opens, Shrek and Fiona are having to take on the duties of being the active king and queen of Far, Far Away. When we left him, the King was quite literally croaking. They're not very comfortable in these roles, so ...
