"Shrek 3" and "Happy Feet" Promo Clips Are "Stunning"
Two of the more eagerly anticipated animated films right now are George Miller's "Happy Feet" and, of course, DreamWorks' "Shrek the Third." A pair of separate reports have popped up recently, so we thought it'd make sense to share some of the "promo clip reviews." (Silly, I know, but we do what we can until the goods are made public.)
From a ZDNet article about Jeffrey Katzenberg: "Finally, Katzenberg previewed a few minutes of "Shrek 3," which is due in theaters in May of 2007. The animation was stunning, with what he called "smushable" fur, a wider array of fabric and clothing patterns, more realistic skin, and more life-like hair. Even the story line was compelling. No doubt, Shrek 3 will go right to the head of the tail as a summmer theater blockbuster, and you will sit through several minutes of unwanted commercials as a bonus feature."
And this is from Moviehole.net: "The film looks stunning with the majestic Arctic background and the realistic penguins that move, waddle and dance to gay abandon. It hasn’t been a great year for animation, but George Miller, who created Babe on film, brings audiences what may well be the happiest and most visually striking piece of animation to come along since Shrek. I can hardly wait to see the film in its entirety. No wonder the footage we saw was greeted with boisterous applause. "Happy Feet" opens nationwide in November and I predict it will be justifiably huge."
