Not a good Claudia Wolf portrayal

Was anyone else disappointed in the casting of Carrie Anne Moss as Claudia Wolf?
Claudia was my favourite villain from "Silent Hill 3", she was icily beautiful and had a magnificence about her which made you have respect for the charachter, but Moss didn't do anything for me. I found Moss to be quite weak in the role, and not suited to the part of a villain. Don't get me wrong, i have nothing against her, and she's been good in her other roles (I liked her a lot in "The Matrix) and i'm not saying she's a particularly bad actress, she just wasn't suited to Claudia and didn't play the part well. I understand she's meant to be slightly different in the film to the game, and that's fine, i just wasn't happy with the performance given.
If it were up to me, i would have chosen Tilda Swinton, because
*She's more experienced in acting
*She's shown us how well she does in the role of an antagonist
*She looks more like Claudia.
Swinton showed me what i saw in Claudia when i watched "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" in that she was icily beautiful, magnificent and what you would go looking for in the role of a villain. I enjoy seeing villains whom we love to hate, but Moss didn't make me love to hate Claudia or particularly admire her, i felt her performance was very flat.
Please don't leave nasty or abusive comments, i'm not here to hurt anyone, i just wonder if anyone else agrees that Moss wasn't the best choice for Claudia. Who do you think could have done the role better?

I liked the movie, but it was far from silent hill 3,like she traveled to the town with the detective, not Kent, they skipped out on some cool effects. Like the mirror effect. Always thought that was the coolest part of the game.

Yes, and i enjoyed hearing of Alessa's one friendship, and i'd hoped the writers of the film might have stuck with that. And the fact that they didn't have the cult do the damage they did in the game made them seem less threatening. I wish the writers of the first Silent Hill film had returned, because they delivered all that was neccessary without making a ridiculous, predictable adaptation.

I'm not so into the Silent Hill franchise (more Resident Evil ;)), but I completely agree about her role here as the villain, also compared to the crazy woman from the first movie. She frightened me a lot more.

Yeah Christabella from the first film was scary. Thanks for your opinion, glad to see someone else agrees :)
