Fourth film in this series omits the killer Santa which made this series infamous. This is yet another awful entry, and in seems the series keeps on going, the more awful the films become. This is yet another bad sequel to a series that never should have happened. This film is a misfire and ends up feeling tedious. This fourth entry shows us one thing, the lack of an effective idea that could make up a good horror film. This is a poorly constructed affair that just doesn't deliver. This is just a waste of time with nothing new to offer viewers. It's all the same bad ideas we've seen in the previous two entries, and it just falls flat. Brian Yuzna's directing is mundane and flawed. This film just doesn't have anything interesting going on to make it worth watching. The actors look bored an uninterested in doing the film, and the dialogue is cheesy, stupid and pointless. Even by Slasher film standards, this one is pretty bad. The story just doesn't have any substance. This is yet another unnecessary sequel to a Slasher film that didn't need sequels. If you're a diehard fan of the films, this one may appeal to you, but for the common Slasher fan, pass up on this, as it offers nothing new or original to the story of the series, thus it's one that should be avoided due to a bad plot, bad acting, directing and poor production values. This one is just a lazy horror film that fails to deliver good old fashioned entertainment.

As I watched this movie, I was baffled as why this film was in the Silent Night series. This movie was not scary at all, but was somewhat entertaining. The actors were okay. Clint Howard (House of the Dead) and Reggie Bannister (Phantasm) were the biggest names in this film, but otherwise the rest are pretty much unknown. Director Brian Yuzna (The Dentist) lacks the appropriate Christmas scenery, which would add to the film's intensity and horror. The movie seemed like Rosemary's Baby, with the occult, rape, and sacrificing scenes. Also those giant worm things were NASTY! This movie lacks some things, but it passes on okay

The relation between Silent Night, Deadly Night 4 and the rest of the series is tenuous at best. Instead of a Christmas-themed slasher film, SNDN4 is supernatural horror film that revolves around a young woman inadvertently getting caught up in a coven of demon-worshiping witches. Ricky, from SNDN2, does reappear as a pawn of the witches, but it is never really clear how Ricky transformed from the twenty-something beefcake of SNDN2 into Clint Howard. Dumb, dumb, dumb, SNDN4 is one of those sequels that they obviously just slapped the label on to capitalize on the series' fame.

Anything that has "she demons" cant be all that bad, but this movie has NOTHING to do with the series, or even XMAS in general!! As a stand alone movie, not too bad, but just rename it something else.... Halloween 3 comes to mind!

This movie could have been more Christmasy like the first movie, but it was entertaining enough to keep me watching. The plot was hardly a slasher, more like a supernatural society kind of thing.

veers off from anything related to christmas to instead something about clint howard, large roaches and militant feminism.

An investigative reporter is attempting to solve a recent suicide that seems to be linked to a mysterious feminist cult in SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT 4. This film couldn't have anything less to do with the rest of the series, and clearly had the name tacked on at the last minute for publicity. No Santa Claus. No Christmas killing spree. No Fun. Instead, it plays closer to THE WICKER MAN or THE LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM. Only badly. The confused plot even has the lead fantasize about giant bugs before transforming into one herself? And for no better reason than to show off more of Screaming Mad George's gruesome creature effects. Clint Howard takes over for Eric Freeman and Bill Moseley in a throwaway role as "Ricky Caldwell," if you can even call him that. Another terrible sequel.

Awful story which has very little to do with Christmas. Obviously it was just a cash in on the unnecessary franchise. The characters are not good, and the plot is ridiculous. Very slow and uninteresting, the only redeeming thing about it are some of the effects.

The best of the sequals. This movie does what haloween 3 tried to do. The franchise went in a complety diferent direction and managed to put out a good movie.

A very dull, in-name only sequel that has some impressive effects (thank you, Screaming Mad George), but nothing else.

Takes a different turn than the rest and not for the better.

SNDN 4 makes literally no sense and the lack of bodycount and graphic violence render this unwatchable.

(**): Thumbs Down

The first half of this movie is really boring but it picks up when the gross-out bug effects come into play. The movie is fun with the special effects but it takes too long for the film to get there.
