Peep a Pair of "Simpsons Movie" Clips
by Scott Weinberg | July 27, 2006
Discuss Article
Some of the "Simpsons" creators stopped by the San Diego Comic Con to do a presentation on a little something called "The Simpsons Movie," and they even brought some clips! And you can watch 'em too!

Click right here for the animatic-only clips, both of which are pretty darn funny.

"The Simpsons Movie" opens next July, and in addition to all the regular voice-actors you know and love, the flick promises guest stars like Albert Brooks, Minnie Driver, and (of course) Kelsey Grammer as you-know-who.

Thanks to AICN for collating the YouTube clips.

Brilliant
If there's any character that can get my ass in a seat for a Simpsons movie, well, "you-know-who" is it.

Funny, better than what they're offering on TV, but still not as good as the old days.

Greatness in the Works
Even the Animatics show the enlarged scope of a feature compared to the show.

That was EXACTLY what I want this movie to be. It's got the charm and humor of the older seasons, back when it was good.

I've moved past cautiously optimistic now, I'm actually excited.

i'm kinda worried
the first clip was classic simpsons humor. the second one reflected the inane and insulting slapstick type humor of the later seasons, and it made me worried that this won't be the glorious endcap we hoped for.

I found myself laughing out loud during them, which I don't do often since I'm currently by myself. This movie can go either way, but they've been planning this thing for years, and they said they would never do a movie unless the story was right so, if it's bad...well, I'll keep those comments to myself and just hope it's amazing.

I'm officially excited.

Has anyone confirmed that this film will end the TV series? I thought that the show was signed on for at least another few years, and that it would probably be renewed again after that.

The one clip with Homer in the snow was terrible, but the other one was actually funny because it didn't constantly go to the lowest standard in a desperate attempt to make us laugh because it can't do any better--kind of the opposite of the series now.

I'm sold. Of course I was gonna get the DVD anyway, but now I just might make the trip to the multiplex beforehand.
