So many good childhood memories are tied to this film.
Sissi is one of my most prized film characters!

I was very interested to see this biopic of the less well-known Austrian Empress. This film covers only a short period of her life--she is around 16 and this film is a delightful romatic comedy as Sissi and Franz Josef meet again after knowing each other as kids and they fall for each other. Romy Schneider's performance is quite sweet and charming. Her impishness beguiles everyone, and though I don't relate to the ways she's a tomboy, I still rooted for her. I'd like to see the other films featuring Schneider as Sissi. Another plus here is the gorgeous locations and costumes.
