Critic Review - tonymacklin.net

Where have you gone, 007? Skyfall has transformed you from the human, vulnerable, skillful spy into a Superhero Bond. In Skyfall, Bond is part Aquaman and part Road Runner, with some familial angst pilfered from Bruce Wayne. He's become an action toy.

"Where have you gone, 007? Skyfall has transformed you from the human, vulnerable, skillful spy into a Superhero Bond." -- you must not have seen the previous Bond movies then. Remember Connery? Brosnan? Yeah, real vulnerable human characters. Bond always has been a larger than life hero. That's exactly the point. And with Daniel Craig they did inject him with some vulnerable, human elements.

By my count, Tony Macklin has given a 4-star review (out of 5 stars) to just two movies in the past two years -- The Dark Knight Rises and Midnight in Paris.

He thrives on being miserable at the movies. You'd think he'd find another career, but apparently he enjoys our outrage at his turgid reviews more than he enjoys the movies themselves.

This guy only wants to grab attention by giving 2s to movies that 90% of reviewers like lol

I like how any idiot with a website can call himself a critic. Skyfall doesn't get a 100% but Toy Story does? These critics obviously know good movies when they seem them...

Oh, dear god. here it goes again.

99% of the people here feeling bad about this bad Skyfall review don't realize something: When Mr MacKiln said "He's become an action toy" it is not a comparison between Craig Bond and the previous Bonds before CR, but between Skyfall Bond and Casino Royale Bond. CR Bond was an actual real man (yes, deal with it). Skyfall Bond is heading backwards to his previous personas...sort of like an action toy.
That, to me (a Craig Bond fan boy), is disappointing.

I wouldn't argue with this film critic...he knows John Wayne.

LOL don't you mean "Duke" Wayne...no one who know him called him "John", as Tony Macklin eloquently put it.

Is there anything you like? You can't be more vulnerable than Bond in Casino Royale. He didn't look like a superhero when he was strapped to that chair getting his 007's smashed by a huge knotted rope.

hahaha.. This person obviously has no history of James Bond.. The Most vivid image to me is in "Octopussy" where Bond manages to grab on the sides of an airplane, and ride it as it did barrel rolls. Then Bond proceeds to punch out the door, apparently creating no vacuum at all. If anything, this reviewer should be criticizing the new movies for not being unrealistic..or just not criticizing at all.
