Chase: The Lost Trollfighter
One of the awesome things that link the Bond films to the fans themselves is that there is a favorite and a least favorite for everybody. It's always interesting to listen to the explanations of fellow Bond afficionados who maintain their own solid opinions on each film. I gurantee that if every one of us in this thread were to provide a list of their top ten favorite 007 stories, each entry will be different and unique. However, one notion I simply cannot entertain is the statement of Skyfall stealing its ideas from the Bourne movies, the Batman movies, or the Home Alone movies. If you fall into this category, leave the thread now. You clearly have no clue what James Bond is all about nor do you have any fresh knowledge of the series to share with the rest of us.

I won't say that all the naysayers are 100% wrong - but this sums up what a lot of them had to say: "missing all of the things that made the old Bond movies so enjoyable" - but so many of these comments remind me of the disappointment -- no -- petulance displayed by concertgoers when the artists don't play e-v-e-r-y damn song from the past because they have some good new material they want to fit into their 2-1/2 hour set.
I fear for Arnold S., the day he fails to say, "I'll be back"

This movie should be called Bourne, James Bourne.
Whatever it is its not a flemming 007 story. I wopnt saay it outright sucks as a movie but its one of the worst bond movies ever made. Nothing that makes the franchise great is in this movie except fleeting cameos of what it should be

should be in this trailer lol funny movie
1 fan likes this.

I liked this one, because it takes the old things that the other James Bonds films had, and because this time he confronts different villains.

The Best Non-Bond Bond Movie. :0
Dec 16 - 02:53 PM
Some corrections to my post, sorry, the window is so small. I loved the glitz and glamour, the fact that bond was a womanizer and the evil genius was over the top. Just like to add that. Everybody knew it was unrealistic, but it was escapism and a whole lot of fun. There are too many 'realistic' bloody and gory movies. Bond was not about that.
Nov 22 - 07:56 AM
I haven't seen the movie yet, but ever since Daniel Craig became James Bond and the movies became more 'realistic' and Bond had too much emotional baggage, the movies just lost their sparkle to me. For me as a Bond fan, it has always been about almost sci-fi kind of plots and visuals, the evil genius was over, and so on, you get my drift. How many people will remember these last 3 movies in the years to come, like they remember the old ones? I love the theme song and that's about all I will probably like about it.
Nov 22 - 07:53 AM
I dislike how everyone says this movie sucks just because it tried to break out of the same formulaic crap that Bond has been for the past couple of years. I mean, forsake those who try and do something new and who actually succeed with the general populace and not that of the simple-minded.
Nov 22 - 06:27 AM
Don't watch this film tired, the first hour is so sluggish you won't make it.
Nov 21 - 09:12 PM
The second best Bond movie!!! The best one will always be "Casino Royale" and Craig IS the best Bond since Connery!! I don't know why some people didn't like it... Just because it's different and less clichéd than the "Try to hard to look cool" Brosnan version, although Goldeneye was actually the best one he did. Stop hating and enjoy a great story and great actin!!

91% fresh...maybe you are not right?
Nov 11 - 01:36 AM
Newsflash Nobody listens to film critics. Otherwise Transformers would not have made any money.
Nov 14 - 11:42 PM
Hang on, the first Transformers was good. The other two, I wish never existed. And lets be honest, we all can't listen to film critics as they, like us, are speaking in matter of opinion and not fact.
EX: I love actions movies and dislike romance movies so I say a romance movie sucks, to someone who loves that type of stuff it might be the best romance movie they've ever seen.
Nov 22 - 06:20 AM
No. This is best bond movie ever.
Nov 10 - 08:47 PM
Abysmal. How can a James Bond film be worse (much MUCH worse) than Ek Tha Tiger? Dull dull unimaginative attempt at a superspy film on the cheap. If Bond is a franchise, then Daniel Craig's location needs to be closed permanently!
Nov 10 - 03:11 PM
You people are retarded. It isn't nearly as good as any of the Bond films you made. And really? Worse than Octopussy? Ren Hoek said it best...EEEEDIOTS!
Nov 10 - 01:21 PM
So you're disappointed that they made a great film, rather than following the traditional Bond formula? It's a bad movie because it's new and not the same tired, old, beaten horse? I think one should look for more in one's movie choices than merely nostalgia. No wonder most modern movies are horrible sequels or remakes. Everyone must think like you.
Nov 10 - 11:57 AM
Yes who needs a fun movie when you can watch Jason Bourne Ripoff. Which are better then Craig's Crap anyways.
Nov 14 - 11:41 PM
You know, I never did understand the hype of the Bourne Movies, I actually felt like they WERE ripoff's of Bond movies except he's not working with the agency, he's against them.
Nov 22 - 06:22 AM
Sadly Jonathon, many movie-goers don't know what they want. If they a see a movie and then a sequel and the if the sequel's too much like the original they complain and demand a different one. If they make the squeal too different from the first then it sucks because they wanted it more like the original. And I bet the people who say this Bond movie sucks also think that Hangover Part 2 was so freaking awesome(even though it was 1 all over again).
Nov 22 - 06:24 AM
There is nothing new in Skyfail. They simply made a mashup of Batman the Dark Knight Rises, Bourne and Home Alone. It was totally unoriginal and boring. I don't even consider it a Bond film, but rather an ugly stepchild.
Nov 22 - 07:43 AM
Well you're clearly on drugs so I ask you, where do you get them and can I have some?
Jan 8 - 09:51 AM
Skyfall is a very satisfying Bond film. One has to take into account the limits of the genre of this film and evaluate the movie in context. Little of anything new can ever come forth in series movies. What made Casino Royale seem so great (and it was very good) is the fact that it was the first Craig "Bond film." Had Skyfall been first, it would likely be considered the best of the three.
Nov 22 - 09:01 AM
I wouldn't go that far, but its two closest predeccesors were more enjoyable experiences. There was not a significant woman in this outing, no modern Aston Martin, few bon mots, wardrobe didn't cover the subject. Let's hope the next instllment arrives with a couple of years and corrects these deficiencies.
Nov 10 - 09:30 AM
One of friends made a nice statement. The movie ended like a very violent Home Alone.
Nov 9 - 09:57 PM
The dialogue was terrible, the ending made no sense, and the entire movie seemed diluted. It didn't even seem like a Bond Film.
Nov 9 - 08:43 PM
I agree 100%. This was the worst Bond Movie in a long time.

What's your problem Lee?
Dec 16 - 04:04 AM
Man, I don't know what YOU were watching, but I think you went into one of the Twilight movies instead of this great Bond film. The story was excellent, and Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Connery. Thoroughly enjoyable and kept us on the edge of our seats
Nov 9 - 07:55 PM
It was enjoyable but very overrated.
Nov 9 - 07:23 PM
It could have made a much better Jason Bourne film than the one they tried to pass off in the non-Bourne offering this year. But was this really a Bond film? Great supporting cast, lots of action, but not a "Bond".
