If you can let plausibility slide, this tale of two simultaneous realities created by catching/missing a train will be a fun ride.

Consensus: Despite the gimmicky feel of the split narratives, the movie is watch-able due to the winning performances by the cast.

She begins to live out two lives: if she had made the train, and if she hadn't. An intriguing concept about fate and how simple moments have the ability to change our lives. [More]

Reviews for Sliding Doors
Paltrow is delightful as the trendy Londoner running parallel lives and has a disturbingly accurate English accent.
This should go down a storm with folks who still cherish the hope that the solution to all their problems is just around the corner or in the next lift.
A thinking person's romantic comedy -- but, hey, don't let that frighten you away. It's also lots of fun.
This proposition from English writer-director Peter Howitt is not unique, but I have never seen a film that presents the idea so clearly, so cleanly, so provocatively.
The parallel storylines lend an originality that most other romantic comedies lack
With a pleasing balance of romance, comedy and drama, Sliding Doors is an exceedingly original story that appeals to both the heart and mind.
The ending is not altogether satisfying, but it's certainly an original.
The script is shrewd and inventive, combining wit, romance, and intelligent melodrama into a crowd-pleasing whole.
Too often in her past movies Paltrow has been cast as either an ice princess, a gloomy grump or a kook, and it's a relief to watch her get a crack at playing someone down-to-earth.
Paltrow gives the first credible evidence since Emma that her career may last.
Unique concept and plot execution, this movie offers many good points, including solid acting, a painfully effective poppy soundtrack, humor, romance, and many insights into the minds of women and the men who cheat on them.
One of the most purely pleasurable, delicious films currently available.
Great script, interesting camera work, superb acting. I can find nothing wrong with it, the more I think about it.
