where does it continue on what movie since that one slug looks like its dividing into 2 slugs

Much better than it deserves to be because of the excellent death scenes. It's the kind of movie that encourages you to laugh with it instead of laughing at it.

They must have spent most of the budget on the special effects and none on the writing for this awesomely bad b-movie. The wooden characters and dialogue are nearly overshadowed by the gory effects...nearly.

Slugs: The Movie definitely ranks in the category of "so bad that it's good". Originally titled Slugs, Muerta Viscosa (literally Slugs: Death Slime), it's about what you would expect from a movie about killer insects or bugs. The plot is pretty generic: a small town is invaded by over-sized killer slugs that have been mutated from toxic waste dumps, are getting into people's homes and water supply, and killing them. It's up to three people, including the town's health inspector, a science teacher, and a sewage treatment man, to stop them from succeeding, but of course, no one believes them until it's too late. So yeah, pretty standard fare for this kind of movie. It's the kind of plot they've been doing since the 1950's, and was hit over the head by American International Pictures in the 1970's. The dialogue is hilarious, but there's also plenty of gore on display for gore hounds. There's never really much of a pay off and some of the people as obstacles to the plot can be annoying, but the movie is hilariously bad, and definitely worth a watch.

Based on the novel of the same name (seriously??), this European-American co-production is lacking in logic or skill but manages to be marginally entertaining based on its sheer ludicrous-ness and gratuitous splatter scenes. Blatantly rote in story but that's actually part of its charm...as minor as it may be,

Hilariously bad cheese-fest from Juan Piquer Simon(the wacky director of the equally off the wall "Pieces"). Radioactively mutated slugs rise up to kick the shit out of a small town in Nowhere, USA. Terrible acting coupled with abysmal dubbing. Low on nudity, but high on gore. Half-eaten corpses, exploding heads and eyeballs, hatchet dismemberment and much more. Not for the prudish but horror geeks will eat it up. Just be careful not to slip on the slime trails...

A small town experiences some deaths and disappearances which leave officials with no answers. When one man discovers that mutant meat-eating slugs are to blame, he is laughed at. Soon it is discovered he is correct and the source of their new powers is a toxic dump. Some gruesome scenes, but all-in-all solid, average 80s fare.

The acting may have been sub-par but the film was actually quite enjoyable! It's nice to move away from everything being so serious to have a fun B-Movie about killer slugs! The overly negativity towards this film I feel is unjustified, because much like a made for SyFy movie, you like it for what it is... The slugs were actually quite menacing looking critters in fairness...

Good cheesy 80s Horror that knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously. I mean come on.....Slugs? Really? Who honestly thought this was going to be a serious horror? For the time this came out, this was like something alttle different to offset the slasher craze that was slowly dying by 1987. The acting is somewhat comical and alittle too winking at the camera for its own good but it wasn't half bad. The effects are very serviceable for the budget, and I didn't hate any of the characters.
This is a great addition to any cheesy 80s horror collection....so if you've waited all these years and always passed this by at your local blockbuster or mom and pop video store, give it a shot on netflix.

The key thing for a horror movie is to make the titular creatures scary. Mission failed. I mean, come on - they're slugs! However, it's one of those cult B-movies that is incredibly enjoyable to watch. Whether it's by design or otherwise (I'm assuming the latter), it's chock full of terrible acting, dodgy 80s hairstyles and equally iffy special effects. Bad dubbing, ludicrous plotting and two lead actors that look vaguely alike is the order of the day. You'd also think people would notice that their kitchen has been overrun by (killer) slugs, but apparently all the characters in this film need somebody else to burst in and point it out. Great fun.

Near absolute garbage. Not much entertainment value here unless you have a slug fetish or are a bad movie masochist. Barely got one star due to the ridiculously over-the-top ending involving what must have been most of the production money in a pyrotechnics display that produced a rare smile in this otherwise dull and utterly stupid "monster" B-movie. Seriously...it's a horror film about slugs. It's as bad and ridiculous as it sounds.

could have been fun but unfortunatly its pretty boring despite some decent gore.

Flesh-eating slugs contaminate a town's water system while most civic officials refuse to accept the gravity of the situation. Predictably, the cause is the presence of an expired toxic waste dump within city limits. Sadly, only one teenager shows up in costume at the Halloween party. A few over-the-top deaths help raise the bar for this one.

Writer Shaun Hutson has been pretty vocal at his dismay of the limp treatment of his brutally horrifying novel got where the antagonistic slugs look more like lawn cigars instead of the dynamic hunters he wrote.

Without any humour or skill in the effects (i used the word "effects" for lack of any other word to describe static sausages playing the part of the slugs) the movie is a trial to get through and not nearly competent enough to be fun ridiculing.

It is not just awful, it is terribly awful. Too bad there wasn't any Kaufman or Corman behind the camera to add more exploitation genre. "Killer slugs?! What'll be next? Demented crickets, rampage mosquitoes?" however self-irony is brilliant.

Ever seen Horror Of Party Beach? No? Well watch that instead of this, cuz it's pretty much the same thing, only with slow moving, stupid slugs that you would have to TRY to get killed by. The main difference: Horror Of Party Beach had music and dancing, while Slugs has.....uh....two shots of nekkid people. That's it. I hope you like the dramatic musical score, because they use the same part every time, even when people are slowly parking. Aside from a few really good special affects, theres really nothing at all special here.
