Come on, just because it's good and overrated doesn't mean you have to UNDERRATE it.

If your idea was to generate a few quizzical comments, you've succeeded. I read your whole review, to see if there was anything redeeming in it, any half-nod to something you enjoyed in the film. But your whole offering consisted of a spiteful, dismissive paragraph. Naturally, opinions differ, but my gut tells me that you had a grudge against this film. I suggest viewing it again.
Really, Fernando. You're missing something quite beautiful.

The acting and storyline here were superb. The only thing overbearing here is your lame review.

This guy must have a heart of stone. Sometimes, when done well, a feel good movie can be great. I think this is one of them.

From an Indian point of view Bollywood has made far better movies than this one.Danny knows how to please the critics.Trust me the situations shown in this movie are just fictitious and something like this might never happen here.Danny made name and fame by showing portraying India as a nation of slums.Every Indian know the father of his nation i.e Mahatma Gandhiji but Danny's slumdog guy is the only one who dosent know that.

SM is highly overrated and enjoyable to those who know nothing about India and it's people.

Yes, it's fiction, MANU BN. It's a drama, it's a romance. For people who are culturally limited or ignorant, yes they might take this film and try to apply it to all of India. Only that's not even what the film did. India did have slums, lots of them, before the sweep of modernization. And this character happened to live in one when he was young, and was intelligent but did not have the fortune of a proper education, therefore never knowing a lot about Gandhi. It only takes of drop of suspension of disbelief to accept this story as believable. There are plenty of films that depict America as something it isn't, or Germany, or any other country. When you critique a film, try not to judge it unfairly according to something that is a media norm.

A thoroughly overrated movie that taught me the way to find love and overcome adversity is to win the lottery!
