Critics Consensus: Snitch Talks a Decent Game

Summary

This week at the movies, we've got an undercover dad (Snitch, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Susan Sarandon) and terrorized suburbanites (Dark Skies, starring Keri Russell and Josh Hamilton). What do the critics have to say? Back to Article

Apex Predator

The director behind Dark Skies directed Priest (16%) and Legion (20%). Think this might be a tad bit better than both, but not enough to sit this out before critics. So I will guess...25 percent.

Poor "Twilight (1998)" with Newman, Sarandon and Hackman. Not a bad movie, but no one will ever know it. Shit, I type in "Twilight" with RT and it won't even come up.

Insidious and Sinister were both a bit overrated, but I assume that's because when compared to most other mainstream horror movie shit, they're pretty damn good. I mean, after you've sat through The Devil Inside, The Last Exorcism, The Apparition, The Possession, The Chernobyl Diaries, etc... Yeah, Insidious is pretty brilliant. And poster-makers, PLEASE stop with the body contortion images.

The problem most people have with it is that John McClane has gone from everyman to superhero. It's just not the same character. Seriously, watch Die Hard and then A Good Day to Die Hard back-to-back. Is that the same guy???

Am I the only one who thinks "Dark Skies" will be this year's "Devil Inside"? My guess is 10% based on the credentials of hack-meister Scott Stweart.

With regards to Snitch, doesn't a 51% tomatometer rating, belie the positive summary blurb?

That movie is up there if you type the actors/ actresses names- it's only like that because not a heck of alot of people had seen it even though it's known to be Reese Witherspoon's first nude scene!

You forgot to mention The Loved Ones, A Cabin In the Woods Livide, and The House of the Devil which all well were certified fresh and higher rating than the ones you mention. I'm not a big horror fan and even I know "Insidious" and "Sinister" is average stuff.

Wow, it really amazes me how some of you see any movies at all. It is as if you are unable to watch anything that is not arty crap from France or India. I enjoy a good social commentary or deep thoughtful look into the human psyche as much as anyone else. But sometimes you have to get off the ?that movie has too many explosions to be good? pedestal and just enjoy a movie for what it is. Let the replies to crush my opinion with in attempts and intellectual-ish banter begin?now
