You seemed to understand the point in that movie, which is by far more complicated than The Usual Suspects, which you said that you didn't understand. Is it because of Tarkovsky's reputation and importance in cinema history versus Bryan Singer's somewhat more plebeian approach to flimmaking ? That would look like a case of snobbism to me.
