Someone's Watching Me! (High Rise) Reviews
November 8, 2007
Not one of John Carpenter's best moments but for a late 70's TV movie it's better than most. It's biggest weak point is the killer's reveal which once you see him you find yourself wondering who the hell he was.

This obscure relatively unknown thriller by John Carpenter is pretty good actually. Originally made for television in the late 70s (around the same time as Carpenter made "Halloween"), this thriller is like the opposite of "Rear Window"...what if you are the one being watched? Carpenter handles the material well, and the film is engaging from beginning to end. It's creepy, has some genuine scares, and nice mystery plot. I think this was only released theatrically overseas, and I think it is a well-made flick that shouldn't be as forgotten as it seems to be.

Probably the worst thing that Carpenter has ever done. To think that this came out the same year as Halloween. While there have been great and suspenseful TV movies this is not one of them. But hey at least you get some Barbeau and Seinfeld's Uncle Leo playing a Peeping Tom

A bit boring but I thought Lauren Hutton was magnificent as Leigh Michaels. Worth watching even it's just once.

A woman moves into a high rise apartment and finds herself tormented by a stalker. One thing she doesn't even bother to do until the last act of the film is close her fucking drapes, which could go a long way towards curbing this type of behavior.
Made for TV movie isn't ever really scary, but has a decent cast and solid performances.
Worth a rental.

Someone's Watching Me write this review because they want to know if this movie is good.Well it is for amovie, ahoorror movie written before the sllasher movie era actually began it's good. The main character is strong and shows everyone she's not scared of confronting the killer. It shows you the obscene caller for one of the first times. And it shows you that for a horror movie to be good you don't need more than one death. The only part I didn't like were the last 50 seconds, because they were strange but it was a good movie.

An entertaining and exciting thriller that proves Carpenter's talent. This is a TV movie that rise above the rest.

O filme se sustenta como um suspense eficiente, apesar da fraca atuação de Lauren Hutton, que interpreta uma protagonista igualmente sem graça.

Not Carpenter's best but deserves a watch defitantly.

Shows definite signs that Carpenter was a talent in the making, but suffers greatly from Lauren Hutton trying to be quirky.
