SOMETHING LIKE FLYING contains three short films by artist and filmmaker Deborah Stratman. In "In Order Not to Be Here," Stratman traces the eerie empty spaces of suburbia at night, a world of walls and vacant lots and surveillance cameras and glowing neon. With a soundtrack full of police reports and radio static, the short film creates a sensation of unease, as if something terrible has taken place just beyond the perimeter of the image.
