I am going to pass on this one. It has not aged well and it is not a story that will hold my interest.

"Bring the wife and kid, it's fun for the whole family. HAHAHAHAHA". Sometimes They Come Back is pure cheese. It was made in the early 90's but resembles 80's camp. The effects are pretty bad, and there is constant over-acting, but luckily the last 35 minutes are tons of fun mainly due to some zany and wild performances from the greaser antagonists, and I actually teared up a bit at the very end. Sometimes They Come Back may not be a great film, but it is very fun and enjoyable... a great slice of camp.

Stephen King's story "Sometimes They Come Back" is transfered into another one of those fun movies based on his bright ideas.

Chilling villan's, good acting by Matheson, sort of sad ending

Not really scary, and the ending is different from the story. I still think of it as a Stephen King classic.

Takes a completely wrong approach to the film while giving away too much at the start. It's a complete waste of talent and money.

'Sometimes They Come Back' has a gang of high school hoodlums rising from the dead to finish the job on the teacher whose brother was killed in the past. It's a great horror tale of revenge.

Pretty much garbage. Whoever gave these Kubrick wannabes a steadicam probably ended up keeping the security deposit.

Extremely underrated movie. Solid plot, believable actors, creepy and macabre. PS. The trailer absolutely stinks, so don't bother getting anything from it.

Richard Lawson: Dead.
David North: VERY dead.
If PBS attempted to make a horror film, it would come out a lot like Sometimes They Come Back. This movie was pretty much torture to watch. Okay it is a made for tv movie, but I don't care; at least make it somewhat enjoyable. I don't like to call movies corny because it's an overused statement, but damn is this movie corny.
The flashbacks that Jim has of him and his brother are simultaneously embarrassing to watch and hilarious. The dialogue is just so fake between them. As for the rest of the movie, it isn't as bad as the flashbacks, but still horrible. I haven't read the short story by Stephen King, but I highly doubt that this captured it like he wrote it.
The movie has a lot of King elements that he uses in so many of his stories. A man comes back to a town where he lived as a child like in Salem's Lot and Dolores Claiborne. There's a gang of hoodlums that tormented him and his brother as kids like in IT and Stand By Me. The whole plot is about overcoming something from the past that is effecting you presently and if you don't deal without it forever. I guess by those plot details, it reminds me most of IT.
Sometimes They Come Back is down there with the worst of the King adaptions that I have seen. Not quite to the level of Dreamcatcher, but still almost unwatchable. The cast is bad, especially the actress who plays his wife; I'd write her name, but honestly I don't care enough to even look at the credits.
Vinnie Vincent: You always wanted to be like your brother didn't you Jimmy?
Richard Lawson: Dead.
David North: VERY dead.

So because the ghost car chasing the kid on the bike is invisible, everyone sees the teacher forcing him over the bridge and smashing on rocks below, and there's no police investigation? The teacher isn't arrested? I'd write an actual review, but I couldn't get past this.

Possibly the only good film in the series, truly underrated, but that's just my opinion. The demons in this movie are actually creepy and they represent back ally bullies. A very original and inventive way to metaphor the true nature of these guys. I was quite surprised when I found out this was only released as a made for TV movie, since the production value and acting was very well done. If only they didn't make any sequels, this is one of those films that's great by it's self.

Stephen King does not disappoint in this movie. It takes you from one extreme of emotion to another. There is a good story line, and the action in the movie to back it up. A must see if you are already a fan of horror.

But one by one, three of his students die and each is replaced by one of the same greasers who killed his brother 27 years earlier. They are back for revenge. Now, to stay alive and save his family, Jim must literally confront his demons.
In 1963, Jim Norman witnessed a gang of greasers kill his elder brother-- the greasers then perished themselves in a train accident. Eager to overcome his haunted past, he returns to his hometown and takes a job teaching high school.

Another great example of what horror movies should be like. This is one of those films which scared me to death when I was a kid! Can be slow at times, but all in all it's an original story with some creepy characters. I love the old fashioned feel to it.
