If only Disney had been as aware of the environment they were depicting as they were inventive in their combination of live action film, cartoon animation and unforgettable songs.
Of course, several hundred film artists never noticed they were creating Hitler's masterpiece, but suddenly modern film reviewers are here to save white folk from our own fallacy. Seriously, let's quit apologizing for this film. It is no more racist than Jar-Jar Binks, Chef on South Park, or Carlos Mencia, so let's quit pretending like we've evolved a million miles since this beautiful little film which deserves way better treatment than the average white-apologist film reviewer is likely to give these days. here's a novel question-- what do black people really think of this film? Isn't that kinda the bottom line?
