Though the more politically correct will want to be righteously offended at the on-screen antics and certifiable bad taste slapping us in the face, there's just enough truth and bite in the script to mollify those concerns.

Far tauter, more a laser-guided contraption than the often scattershot episodes of the series.
It's impossible not to find most of it hilarious and thought-provoking.
The satirical message is that the moral defenders of impressionable American youth would literally rather see violent death than obscenity, but Parker and Stone end up delivering both in overabundant quantities to prove their point.
There are some good visuals and a fairly good storyline, but all of these qualities are very uneven. Nothing, except high energy and edginess, are maintained very long.
Takes the foul-mouthed South Park denizens to wild new heights!
The film is a blast!
The funniest film of the year.
Sadly, far too many viewers will be so engrossed (or grossed out) by the film's tasteless humour that they will miss the real important issues raised in this smart, if excessive, satire.
Loud, funny, crude and very rude.
A few good jokes for every dozen groaners!
Top CriticSouth Park is such a wild ride that it really can’t be missed, especially if, like me, you have very bad taste.
It's hard to understand, everyone in the theater except you knows all the characters the microsecond they appear on the screen, and you can only figure out half the jokes. But that half is really, really funny.
South Park has a gag-to-laugh ratio even higher than the new Austin Powers.
Top CriticSo what do we get with all this vulgarity, shock and indignity, other than cringes and laughs? One of the best films of the year, that's all.
It is abundantly clear that Parker and Stone desperately want to be, or at least appear to be, subversive, but for the most part, this is kiddie subversion.
A more clever diversion than anyone had any right to expect!
