Seann William Scott: Southland Tales is Either Beautiful or Pretentious
The actor weighs in on the cut he saw.

After a disastrous presentation at Cannes, Richard Kelly's Southland Tales is finally getting released in November. Presumably an abbreviated cut, star Seann William Scott agreed the director needed to find the heart of the piece.

"I saw a bit of the long cut and I thought there were a lot of really cool things in it," said Scott. "It definitely seemed like it needed to be shortened up a bit."

Even in tip top shape, Southland Tales was always going to be a movie that divided audiences. "I think it's a movie that you're either going to love or you're going to hate. I think it could be really, really interesting. I think there's a chance that half you guys and girls in this room will think it's really cool. The other ones are going to think it's pretentious."

It is right up Scott's alley though. "There are some really beautiful things in it. It's weird, too."

Southland Tales will finally hit theaters November 9.

I think this film is going to be an interesting experiment.
On one hand, I am curious to see what Kelly conjures up next.
On the other hand, I am terrified it will ruin the good memories of Darko.
On my superflous third hand, it has the weirdest cast ever and those reviews really were horrible.
