Reviews for Soylent Green
Uneven and slightly muddled futuristic horror story -- not really science fiction, more like an antipollution PSA gone berserk.
The film was a typical seventies sci-fi effort, scientifically illiterate and unimaginatively composed.
...viewed today, Heston's sci-fi flicks seem dated and square. (TCM Greatest Classic Films: Sci-Fi)
This futuristic thriller just seems to keep getting better with age. An entertaining sci-fi flick done before special effects took over the genre.
A thought-provoking movie that is still relevant with the many environmental concerns that are out there now.
It would have made a great episode of The Twilight Zone, but feature length is too much for its premise.
Great sci-fi with a surprisingly environmentalist message -- you have to wonder if Heston paid close attention.
Their 21st-century New York occasionally is frightening but it is rarely convincingly real.
It's a rare film that makes death a pleasant and more preferable alternative than living
As a science fiction film that relies more on viewers' intelligence than special effects, it represents something that is sorely missed in today's Hollywood.
