Speed Racer creates a timeless, visually seductive world suspended somewhere between the pop '60s and the sci-fi future. Its biggest disappointment, strangely enough, is its raison d'Ítre -- the races themselves.

I disagree with you on the races. I was gripping my seat throughout each one. My favorite easily being the ice fight.

Superb review, you could teach people a thing or two. People don't give this movie a chance because all they see in the trailers are seizure inducing effects (which after seeing the movie, I realise it couldn't have worked any other way), when in reality the movie has a much deeper side.

I liked the race sequences and they weren't that bad at all! Nice review, though! I actually liked this film. Screw what the critics had said!
