I personally can't wait to see this. People are already bashing this stating this is going to be stupid. People remember: THIS IS BASED OF A 60's ANIME SHOW! IT IS NOT THE GODFATHER OF SPEED RACER MOVIES IT IS A SPEED RACER MOVIE!!!!!!!!

Looks like it could be fun, and a bit more serious than I would have expected.

just watched it again, it has the same type of music as the matrix (though poppier in the end, all in all good) and it seems to have really a lot of cool scenes

It has an interesting visual look. Bright neon colors in a movie that looks like it is trying to take itself seriously. Kinda like Batman Forever.................. yeah, this might suck.

I think it looks pretty damn good, much better than I originally thought it would, its a flashy Fast and Furious, and yes, they do capture the cartoony look, and as much as I didn't think it possible Emile Hursch actually looks convincing. I think this trailer is getting attached to I Am Legend next week. The tricky part is going to be Warner Bros. hyping this film against stiff competition next summer to that coveted target demographic that doesn't know this film is based on an old anime tv series.

Gorgeous! I think the "worst movie ever" remark is borderline laughable, especially coming from someone who's never seen it. Keep in mind, this is based on a 40 year-old cartoon series that was geared towards folks of all ages, especially kids. From what I saw, this looks to be a very faithful adaptation, and looks far better than 90% of the other live-action/cartoon tripe that's been dumped on us in recent years.

Hell, if this ends up being rated PG, I'd still have a smile on my face. The show was kid-friendly, so why wouldn't the movie be?

It looks like a videogame! I have no real opinion because i have no idea what the movie is about, i never heard from the cartoon.

What do I think...? CAMPTASTIC AWESOMENESS! That's what I think. Very fun, clearly trying to ape the cartoon (sorry, couldn't resist), and doesn't take itself too seriously. Plus, my kids will eat it for breakfast. Can't wait!

Looks like horrible casting and horrible CGI.

Appears to be on par, if not worst, than Inspector Gadget movie.

I certainly like the "looks" of it. As for such minor things as story, acting, directing, I'll have to wait on any opinion of those, I guess.

Man, I was skeptical at first, but after seeing that trailer, I will actually go to the theater to see this!!! *most of the time I just wait for DVD that way i don't complain about paying 10 bucks to see a flaming pile of....*

I think it is really really going to be good. It now is 2nd on my list of most wanted movies to see behind The Dark Knight.

Go Speed Racer Go!!!!

ok... hold on... this is based on the Speed Racer cartoon, which was supposed to be wacky and weird a lot of the times... the dialog used to be pathetic then!

hehe... so a "faithful" adaptation means more of the same, right?! lol... I'd hate it if they changed it! The corny dialog was what made Speed Racer so funny... and weird! (I actually watched a lot of the speed racer episodes on TV in the 90s.... so go figure what I felt of it after watching TMNT, Transformers, GI Joe etc cartoons!)

I think they've actually captured the whole thing in a very faithful (read: cartooney) style! I think it's one of the best cartoon adaptation (in terms of faithfulness) I've seen for a while! (Remember Transformers? Wasn't faithful... but it still made money)

I'd give it a chance to just watch some brainless, pure, innocent, harmless fun! :-)

Not everything in this world has to make sense and have intriguing plot lines! ;-) the definitions of "funny", "awesome" have changed a lot since the 60s. So, when a 60s era thing is adapted, look at it for what it is! ;-)

I join the camp of supporters! I like it when Hollywood tries new creative directions. This looks slick cartoon real life. They are obviously taking a risk and that's what I enjoy. I'll go see it. And I agree with all those who are stating what should be the obvious- its based on a goofy 60's cartoon! Its a family show! I think all the complainers here (on RT) are usually young guys who don't have families and as such want every film to be everthing to them personally. Get over it, you aren't the only person on this planet.
