Kirsten Dunst Chats Up "Spider-Man 3"
by Scott Weinberg | October 02, 2006
Discuss Article
As she's apt to do every few years, Ms. Kirsten Dunst gets chatty about her role in the newest "Spider-Man" movie, and this time she's got plenty to talk about_: Peter Parker has to choose between Dunst and Bryce Dallas Howard! The poor guy.

From an interview piece at ComingSoon.net: "Mary Jane Watson will be joined by Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard) in the sequel who rivals her for Peter Parker's affections. Dunst said there was no competition on the set between the two, however.

"It's so funny. Everyone asks me that like it's a competitive thing, but Bryce and I got along better than anybody," she explained. "I was happy to have another girl to share all of that testosterone with. It was nice to come to set and have a girl to hang out with. Her character adds another type of woman that puts Peter in a position obviously with conflict with me and lying and this and all of those things just create more drama in our relationships."

She added that it was nice to have a year in between shooting Spidey 2 and 3."

I'm kind of hoping they kill off Mary Jane. IF they reversed the story lines from the comics, it could actually work out.

You're an idiot if you think they're going to kill Mary Jane off. And they would be idiots if they actually did that.

dunst?
I don't get it with K dunst? She's too skinny, a terrible dresser, is very pale, and has "summer" teeth? All these hollywood fools chase her around like she's hot or something?? Someone fucking explain the allure of this homely toothpick?

Kirsten Dunst. Jesus. I mean, why couldn't they get Jewel Staite to play MJ?

Kirsten Dunst is basically a liability in any movie she's in.

Dunst has expressed she wasn't very interested in a Spider-Man 4. I honestly believe the poetically correct thing would be to kill of MJ. To 1 up 1, they revealed to everyone who Spider-Man was. The only way to 1 up that is to kill everyone off. I heard an early rumor Harry was gonna die, which would make perfect sense, and that Aunt May was going to die. Again, I don't know how accurate that was. Still, I think the ultimate way to boost the series would be to kill off Dunst. Monetarily, it doesn't make sense, but in the interest of keeping the story climactic, I think it's a great direction to go. I wouldn't put any mony on them doing it, but I wouldn't say it's a bad idea.

If I had to choose one of those it would be Jessica Biel or Jessica Alba. Knightley while great is a stick, and the Black Cat is very full figured, Biel would actually be a good pick. Scarlett is hot but shes too short and to her personality and acting is too bland for the role.

And no Gwen isn't the Black Cat, Felicia Hardy is.

They've dumped the whole Black Cat thing twice now. I think Sam Raimi knows it just wouldn't work on screen. Now, if somebody esle takes over the series after three, then I think you may see a Black Cat appearence. I also think you'd see the series drop like Batman did when Burton left, except far harder, and it would be mourned far more.
