Larry David in "Spidey 3"?
by RT Staff | February 10, 2005
Discuss Article
According to an Ain't It Cool News scooper, Larry David has been approached to appear in the next "Spider-Man" movie. David supposedly slipped this tidbit while promoting the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" DVD release on a BBC radio show called Front Row, but he didn't elaborate on the matter. The third movie is currently in the writing stages and is shooting for a 2007 release. "Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man 2" are two of the highest grossing movies for Sony Entertainment.

so many villains left to waste
The vulture, he sure looks like the vulture; I like the Vulture's connection to the mob. That'll give us another angle; if I remember right the Green Goblin gets involved with the mob every once in a while. We still need to see Doc Connor turn into The Lizard. Mysterio could be great with the carnivals and all. Mies en scene man; the Spidey series has some. We also need a super villain team up soon so bring em all on!

I heard they might use Black Cat. They almost put her in number 2, but cut her out because there was too much story going on.

they should do have him in a small role, and the villan should be venum, but they wont do venum intell the 4th at the earlyest. 3rd will be part of harry osbourns green goblen but we all know that harry wont be good enough to carry the hole movie, so they will have the doctor conners guy to be the lizard

He can't act. A cameo at best. Stan Lee will probably save his life.

There's only going to be 3 movies-- unless they plan to continue without Maguire or Dunst. The villain will most likely be the biggest, most evil villain that ever came out of the comic books. I didn't read them, but whichever that one is, is going to be the villain in the last of the trilogy.

Not true.

Maguire and Dunst said they would do it depending on Sam Raimi and the script, although it's more likely that there will not be a 4th.

Anyway, the 3rd should be GG2 and maybe another baddie with a smaller role. They should introduce Eddie Brock i nto the 3rd and have his hate for Spider-Man grow in the background throughout the movie. If they want to make fans flip out, the movie should end with a surprise cliffhanger of the Venom symbiote coming to Earth (perhaps in the way the 90's Spidey-toon did it).

In Spidey 4, if it's made, they should have Peter use the symbiote for the first half+ of the movie (thinking it would be 2 1/2 hours long as it should be for a story like this), with Venom coming in for the rest of it.

Or maybe mix it up a bit and have Peter wear the alien costume in Spidey 3 and fight GG2 in it, until he defeats Harry and gets rid of the costume at the end, which would end with the cliffhanger of Eddie Brock getting it.

Something like that would make fans flip out.

Well, you certainly know exactly what's best. Maybe you should write to the scriptwriters.

I hate to break it to you...
but Mysterio and The Vulture would be great villians for Spider-Man 3.

Mysterio because, as a special effects expert (read: James Cameron, with slightly less ego:) frustrated with his lot in life ruins Spider-man's good name by disguising as him and committing crimes till Spidey takes him down.

It just about writes itself. Besides, the in-jokes about Hollywood alone would be worth the price of admission.

And who would make a better Mysterio than the great Bruce Campbell.

The Vulture would also rock because I think that people these days are so jaded by characters that shoot this, or fire that they underestimate how powerful someone someone would be just with the ability to do something as 'simple' as flight.

Plus it would be a great opportunity to see some really cool CGI of Spider-man fighing a character that literally controls the sky.

If he does join the cast of SM3 there is know doubt he will be The Vulture , i mena come on he fits the look prefectly , porlly a early opening scene in the movie, a small role to start the movie off ...

Spidey Planned for 6 movies
Maguire and Dunst may not return , but im sure they will givin Sam returns . Even if they bail out on a Spidey 4 it will get made , who wouldnt make another one if 3 makes 330 million , even if it means introducing a new Spidey and MJ , The villians this time will be Vulture (small opening scene) , Sandman (church) and Green Goblin 2, possibly a black cat Intro ... Grace will be introduced as Eddie brock and the hate for Peter will begin ... Movie 4 will do the same quick exit for a bad guy like Scorpian or Mysterio then be half Symbiote story line and venoms Beginning and the Lizard ... 5 would be Venoms return and Carnage introduction and then 6 would cap it all off and tie all the loose ends together with venom , carnage, lizard and Harry ...

So far it sounds like the beginning of the end for the spider-man series. Introducing multiple silly villians, losing actors and directors seems like no one has learned from batman forever and batman and robin. If hollywood does make a fourth and fifth movie and god help me a sixth then raimi, dunst and maguire will not return and the series will crash and burn. Its better fit for a three films with the third having a sure and spectacular end that would please fans more than a series that goes down the old batman path, lest we forget, dont let it happen again please!
