Lizard Still in Play for Spidey Films

Dylan Baker will still have a supporting role in "Spider-Man 3." With Sandman, Venom and Harry Osborn's Green Goblin, there isn't much room to bring in The Lizard. But the films have kept his alter ego, played by Dylan Baker, in play.

"It's still Doc Connors is the guy who Peter Parker has to go to for info," said Baker. "And he runs into all kinds of things that he doesn't understand, so I'm his answer guy."

Baker is a patient man, so does not mind waiting for his turn at villainry. "Well, you don't know. It's still down the road possibly."

And if Lizard is the big bad in "Spider-Man 4," Baker is game. "Yeah, definitely."

A reckoning with The Lizard in the future? Stay tuned.

you mean that a relatively unknown character actor would definately take the role of main villain in one of the biggest movie franchises of all time? get out of here! it would be news if he said he wasnt interested.

The Lizard? Ooh, the suspense.

He would have been a nice supporting villian, but all the biggies have been used already: Oct, both Green Goblins and Venom. They should have paced themselves.

There are tons of villains in the comics, more than they could ever put to film. Besides, a reappearance of one of those villains you mentioned isn't out of the question. In addition, a villain in the movies is only a 'main' villain because the filmakers say so. Meaning, The Lizard would be a 'main' villain to most filmgoers because 1) they don't know the Spiderman mythos anyways and 2) The character has already been introduced in two previous movies. It'd be more than perfect to make the Lizard one of the/the main villain(s) in the fourth movie.

The origin of Sandman is lame; why not put Grizzly in the movie while they are at it. I think Vulture should be in the movie, and they could get Ben Kingsley to look like the shriveled up sack.

in the comics, the lizard was always a very tough foe for spider man as well as interesting because he is a friend of Peter's who can't control his actions making it more then just about defeating a villian, so the idea that the lizard dosn't stack up with Doc Oct and the Green Goblin is ridiculous.

I would love to see Baker as the Lizard be the main villain for the fourth film.

If they put Lizard in the 4th, I would soooo hope to God that they did the story that started off the Todd McFarlane series. It was Lizard and Calypso, if im not mistaken, and Spidey was near death by the 5th issue from fighting him. Dylan Baker IS a great character actor, and i think he would pull off this role with flying colors.
