Five Favorite Films with Harmony Korine

Summary

Filmmaker, provocateur, degenerate, genius: Harmony Korine is the writer of Kids and Ken Park, and the director of Gummo, Julien Donkey-Boy, Mister Lonely, Trash Humpers and Spring Breakers -- the latter of which also happens to be, thus far, the best American film of 2013. Here are Mr. Korine's all-time favorite movies. Back to Article

Part of me thinks this is an April Fool's joke, but the other part says, "No, Korine is just that weird."
Also, fire your editor, Rotten Tomatoes! Korine didn't write Bully. He wrote Kids and Ken Park for Larry Clark, but not Bully.

This is a nice list. Pixote's great. I'm really looking forward to Reygadas' newest, Post Tenebras Lux, which i'l be seeing in a week's time.

I always thought that Korine just writes things to satisfy his own sexual needs in a weird way. I think he's a pervert and the fact that he listed the sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee confirms that for me (unless its an April Fools joke). I never thought he was a good filmmaker, but that's just my opinion. I hear Spring Breakers is pretty good thought so I'll check it out. Either way I'm not a fan of his.

When you click the link to the Pam and Tommy sex tape it takes you to the page for "Passion of the Christ." I laughed out loud.

Christians love to celebrate Christ's torture, humiliation and death. They even re-enact it. I don't get it; if that's what turns you on, just go to an S&M club.

Christians celebrate the fact that Christ was willing to go through torture and death as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. It is reenacted to remind us what he did for us. Are you seriously that uneducated?

Even more hilarious is the fact that the Tomatometer marks 69%, like really guys?

I wouldn't imagine that Korine could do a fave five list totally straight-faced. Certainly not without a tall tale or two. (I could imagine his true list having "Aguirre Wrath of God", "Days of Heaven" and "Pickpocket" though) At least I think "Pixote" is sincere, and "Brewster McCloud" is a great satire, and Altman's own personal favorite of his films. And I'm curious about any Reygadas at this point. Good kid. Piss cat.

What a genius! Nobody but an artist of his level could put together so diverse a set of films, and produce some of the greatest works of our time!

April Fools, you guys. Also, Pam and Tommy Lee's link opens up on The Passion of The Christ. Jussayin'

I was surprised to see that the Tommy Lee/Pam Anderson video had a Tomatometer rating, so I clicked the link.
