It would be sweet if Abrams could bring back some of the WRATH OF KHAN magic to the Star Trek franchise. Most of the movies at least since 6 have been decidedly underwhelming.

I don't know, I'd definitely make a case for First Contact. Maybe it was a right-place-and-time thing, but I thought that movie really worked. Picard struggling with his past life as a Borg was great, and Alice Krige was pretty awesome.

Mischa Barton is playing a lesbian?

I already nominate this for the Oscar for greatest movie ever.

That kid looks like a Hobbit in that pic.
hmm...interesting!

Dont know what character he is playing in T4 but hopefully it wont be a major role. Enough with the kids stuff, and get some good ol fashioned adult action on the go. Unless he is a young John connor in flashback mode.

Oh yeah, and never much been a star TREK fan, not enough lightsabers and stormtroopers for my liking...

BUT, I am pumped for this movie, hopefully trek fans will get a huge space adventure in this version. I always saw star trek as having great potential, but i've never seen it hit the spot. Maybe i will now. Could be a new beginning to something great, like Batman begins/casino royal...

OMG! Next Shia?!
But maybe more versitile?

And Trek, could be really good.
I've never once been interested in the show or films.
But J.J. Abrams?
I'm sold.

Lesbians are always a hot topic.
Most panned movie from Cannes?
I already nominated it.

First I heard that Bale would be John Conner. Should already be halfway decent then.

If Abrams is trying to stay true to the original, and most of the original cast is liking what they are seeing, then I have high hopes for this film. Hopefully it gets at least a 70% on the tomatometer.

The quality of Star Trek movies rests on the villan. The Wrath of Kahn had Montalban and First Contact had the Borg queen, and those two movies were kickass. The rest of them suck because they're usually fighting some lame thing like V'ger in the first one or that one with spock's brother where they flew to that planet with god on it. This new one has Eric Bana as the villan, and he's pretty cool, so I got some high hopes for it.

You might not have liked Bana in Hulk (I did), but you can't fault him Troy. He was awesome in that as Hector. "Sometimes the gods bless you in the morning and curse you in the night."

I like Ike,is right. the quality of star trek movies rest`s on the villian.Look at the rubbish of that last trex film. Montalban`s charismic screen prescence, was perfect casting for the role. What`s needed is new dark, menacing character.Whatabout Javier Bardem? An Oscar winning actor. Eric bana,a menacing, charismic, actor? Guess it`s time for opticians appointment!

Spartacus, trust me... Go rent CHOPPER!!!

There you will see Bana in a charasmatic Menacing role. Just because he was Bruce Banner in the Hulk, doesnt mean thats all he is. I didnt particularly like him in Hulk neither. CHOPPER is his defining moment, one he could not beat in any future movie, unless they ever make CHOPPER-2!

Bana was great in Black Hawk Down too, I think he can be forgiven for Hulk. It wasn't him, he did what the director told him to do, I fault Ang Lee not the performances of the actors.

I may have watched chopper on tv a few months ago. It was an australian film where he (bana), shoots a guy on a car park and admit`s to it, but baffoon police won`t arrest him, ha ha.Yes it was a totally different EB,much more gritty and at ease with himself. The hulk showed no one`s talent`s to any good effect, not even the GCI people. We can but hope for better in the next trex and hulk movies!!

Bana is very damn versatile. First he was a comedian (poida), then serious (chopper) super hero (hulk) serious again (munich)romantic (lucky you)... anyway, you get the point!
Anyway, Choppa is bloody brilliant.
