There they meet with a distinguished scientist, Tolen Ren, to learn about possible technological advances that could aid the Voyager's journey back home. However, when Ren is found murdered, Paris unwittingly ends up as both the prime suspect of the murder investigation and the prime target of Numiri assassins.
