Trailer Bulletin: Fantastic Four
by Scott Weinberg | May 20, 2005
Discuss Article
If you were one of the "Revenge of the Sith" early birds, then you've probably already seen this third (and most likely last) trailer for the upcoming superhero-fest "Fantastic Four." But if you were out getting popcorn while the trailers were spinning, feel free to visit Yahoo! Movies for a new look at this freakishly fantastical family.

Directed by Tim Story ("Barbershop") and written by Michael France ("The Punisher"), Fox's "Four" stars Ioan Gruffudd ("King Arthur"), Jessica Alba ("Sin City"), Michael Chiklis (TV's "The Commish"), Chris Evans ("Cellular"), and Julian McMahon ("Nip/Tuck") as the villainous Dr. Doom. "Fantastic Four" hits theaters on July 8th.

Wow. It actually doesn't look all that bad. Maybe this movie won't suck after all.

Hmmm
I saw that trailer for it at the new Star Wars and while I think the job they have done casting is remarkable. They went to F/X (home of the only good television on earth) and grabbed two of the best actors from those shows. Plus Jessica Alba is just about one of the hottest girls on earth. But then I saw the trailer and saw that its just going to another weak comic book remake ala XMen, and is nohting more then amusement for the 16 year old with nothing better to do in life. Looks like it could be good and the acting could actually make it good, but I won't hold my breath.

Comic Book Remakes????
I thought both X-Men movies were excellent comic book adaptations. I wouldn't characterize either one of them as weak by any means, and as far as casting for the Fantastic Four being remarkable, I would say that it is pretty good with one exception and that would be Jessica Alba. She may be hot, but her acting ability is extremely suspect. Acting ability aside, she just doesn't fit the role of Sue Storm Richards at all and seems very out of place among the other actors in this film.

You liked X-Men?
To each his own, I am sure there are alot of people on this site who would agree with you. I personally didn't think they where very good. X2 is leaps and bounds better then the original, but I think they're are just too cereal box like if you get what I mean. Jessica Alba isn't a very good actress, but she's good at being Jessica Alba (I'll never think of her as anything but Dark Angel). I agree completly that she doesn't fit the role.
