The spider was confusing for me..l didn't get ti very well...maybe didn't have a meaning.

the spider crawls up her skirt and so there is metaphorically speaking a spider inside her throughout the movie. The spider crawls up her skirt when Charlie arrives and the spider can also be seen on Charlie's face after she shoots him and lays her face beside his in his pool of blood. A spider represents her character within the web of her family.

yes, l was impressed. Specially by the idea her father figured what she was,(her uncle too.. )and in order to satisfy her need to kill brings her to hunt. (at least this is what l got from the movie) Is kind of touching this..in my opinion. I was surprise she didn't kill her mom.. l was expecting this. and l was expecting her to "team up" with her uncle in killing from the first time she figured he is a killer, but maybe she did not realize what she is yet by that time . even if he sugest it to her pretty early by sending her to the freezer so he can "show off" what he put there.
It made me think..about how difficult is to accept a killer, a psychopat killer, in your family.. her uncle was not accepted.
Anyway.. O think the movie could have explored more her character in discovering herself as a killer. and surprising herself with this.

its a movie that needs rewatching because of all the fine details. I know the first time I saw it I missed parts of the beautiful opening monologue which sets up the themes how she views life and herself as she blooms into her adulthood.
"My ears hear what others cannot hear; small faraway things people cannot normally see are visible to me. These senses are the fruits of a lifetime of longing, longing to be rescued, to be completed. Just as the skirt needs the wind to billow, I'm not formed by things that are of myself alone. I wear my father's belt tied around my mother's blouse, and shoes which are from my uncle. This is me. Just as a flower does not choose its color, we are not responsible for what we have come to be. Only once you realize this do you become free, and to become adult is to become free."

I think she always had some idea what she was, she just didn't realize and accept it yet.
