Critic Review - New York Post

One of those movies that sits in an armchair, smokes a pipe and reflects "seriously" on "the question of violence," but the main reason to see it is for the hilariously nasty uses it devises for a bear trap, nail gun, etc.

Rotten tomatoes need to re think is description of Straw Dogs. This "top critic" review only futher proves that it is not the movie which "celebrates violece" as the site puts it but the audience which chooses to get delight out of what should be a thought provoking movie of justice and dfferent ideals. This is a very decent re make of a classic film and should not be regarded as just another bloody shock based slasher flick.
