From Rob Minkoff, co-director of The Lion King, comes the comedy adventure Stuart Little, based on the classic book by beloved American author E.B. White (Charlotte's Web, The Trumpet of the Swan) that has been entertaining families for over 50 years. Combining live-action with groundbreaking visual effects technology by the artists and innovators at Sony Pictures Imageworks, it's the story of a mouse who is raised by the Littles, a human family played by Academy Award® winner Geena Davis, Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) and Hugh Laurie (101 Dalmations). As Stuart (voiced by Michael J. Fox) embarks on adventures with a variety of characters, including his nemesis, Snowbell the cat (voiced by The Lion King's Nathan Lane), Stuart learns the true meaning of family, loyalty and friendship. [Uses] class and ethnic stereotypes in support of the idea that it's best to be adopted by rich white people.

I found myself caring for the humble little mouse, and that's the whole point.

I'm a huge lover of "Babe," but was a bit let down with "Babe II" ... if you agree with that, then "Stuart Little" is kind of like a "Babe 1.5."

The production design is splendidly stylized to reflect the illustrations of a children's book.

Hopefully, parents and children seeking theatrical fare will give this movie a chance before seeking out something that's louder, flashier, and lobotomized.

Nearly everything delightful about the book is erased or painted over here with near-plotless kiddie fare.

Michael J. Fox is amusingly spunky as the voice of Stuart while Nathan Lane, as Snowbell's voice, is appropriately, well, catty.

Sweet without any touch of saccharine, and very, very funny without any of the usual Hollywood visual excess.

A fine and funny family film that adults will relish just as much as their children do.

This is that rare children's film that works perfectly for grown-ups as well with its witty story, sharp performances and astonishing special effects that never draw attention to themselves.
