This is that rare children's film that works perfectly for grown-ups as well with its witty story, sharp performances and astonishing special effects that never draw attention to themselves.

From Rob Minkoff, co-director of The Lion King, comes the comedy adventure Stuart Little, based on the classic book by beloved American author E.B. White (Charlotte's Web, The Trumpet of the Swan) that has been entertaining families for over 50 years. Combining live-action with groundbreaking visual effects technology by the artists and innovators at Sony Pictures Imageworks, it's the story of a mouse who is raised by the Littles, a human family played by Academy Award® winner Geena Davis, Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) and Hugh Laurie (101 Dalmations). As Stuart (voiced by Michael J. Fox) embarks on adventures with a variety of characters, including his nemesis, Snowbell the cat (voiced by The Lion King's Nathan Lane), Stuart learns the true meaning of family, loyalty and friendship. Reviews for Stuart Little
As kid's films go, this was not too bad. A little obvious here and there to crusty veterans, but a pleasant diversion for the shorter set without totally boring parents.
It's perfectly entertaining fare, sprightly, funny and never too cloying.
Family films are big business and, on that level, this is wholesome fare. But that selling point is also the film’s downfall; it’s just too cute.
It is a movie that children should enjoy greatly, and that adults will find sweet and lovable and frequent good fun.
It will appeal to everyone who isn’t too uptight to enjoy a talking mouse for 80 minutes.
Unfortunately, all of the nice attributes in the world can't make up for the script's cynical betrayal of a classic coming-of-age parable.
In case you were in doubt as to how low American civilization has sunk, go see Stuart Little.
Stuart Little doesn't have the exuberant inspiration or seamless, polished dazzle of Toy Story 2, but if the latter is sold out at the multiplex this weekend, the mouse is a passable substitute.
Lively offscreen (and onscreen) performances from Michael J. Fox, Nathan Lane, David Alan Grier and others.
This is a mostly sweet film whose visual tricks - from the sheen on Stuart's fur and the shadow he casts to the wrinkles in his wool suits - will be seen as amazing by adults and taken for granted by kids.
Everyone wishes Hollywood would make more high-quality, entertaining family films. Thankfully, they still turn up every now and then.
