Screenplay is filled with witty lines and enjoyable characters, but Jeannot Szwarc's direction is rather flat.

The Girl of Steel deserves a better movie, and a better actress to play her. Slater is very cute and looks good in the tights, but is far too wooden. Plot is utterly ridiculous.
