Can Man of Steel top Iron Man 3's $175 million debut?

To do that, it would have to more than triple what Superman Returns did when it debuted in 2006. What do you think?

No. My prediction for opening weekend is $90-120 million. It will only gross $800-900million worldwide.

Id say opening would be around 130-150 million since it is opening in 3d and imax 3d. But yeah it would probably get around that 800 900 million mark. Hard for a first movie to reach that billion dollar mark.
