At the same time, his best friend, Sam (Jeff Daniels) is embarking on a sweet romance with a young schoolteacher, Adie (Elizabeth Perkins). Sam takes on the responsibility of trying to patch things up between Wiley and Sandra, not realizing that Wiley and Sandra are learning how to communicate again by observing his blossoming love affair. This warmhearted love uses beautiful New England locales and a fine ensemble cast to make the most of a script by Ernest Thompson (ON GOLDEN POND). [More]

Not only is the cast terrific, but there is a conscious attempt to evoke the feel of the season
