A quartet of young Canadian classic-auto buffs embark on a cross-country trip, ostensibly to help studious Angie (Allen) clear out the secret marijuana stash grown by her jailed dealer brother. Along the way, however, Angie and narrator/boyfriend Cole (Meyer) and their competitors Bruce (Busey) and Wendy (Richards) fight, scheme, switch cars and trade insults -- characters in this movie never seem more on-target as when they're putting each other down -- and by the end of this bad-relationship road movie one of them decides that the only smart thing to do is clear out. Even if the narrative runs out of gas, the attractive young cast make a nice fuel additive. For another regional comedy of car collectors forever switching seats during a long drive, look for the Ohio-made MY NEW ADVISOR. [More]

Sure, it's a misfire, and that's a shame because the genus of something good is present.
