Critic Review - Chicago Sun-Times

The movie proves two things. (1) Liam Neeson can bring undeserved credibility to most roles just by playing them, and (2) Luc Besson, the co-writer, whose actioner-assembly line produced this film, turns out high-quality trash, and sometimes much better.

Qui-Gon Jinn (Neeson's character in TPM) is one of the best character in the Star Wars films. Too bad people thought crap like Jar Jar Binks or the kid who played Anakin were more important.

High Quality trash will do me for now thanks. I'm tired and fuck watching some pretentious crap masquerading as "Mystery and Suspense" and "Action & Adventure". Sometimes I wonder what people expect from an "Action & Adventure" film.

The main point is, is it watchable and will it pass a couple of hours without me falling asleep. That's all I need to know.

2.5 is not entirely bad... the film was a lot of fun, and even smarter than other films with the same target like "Unknown" or "Battleship".
