TALES OF TOMORROW... TALES OF TOMORROW, the first science fiction anthology series to air on television, began in 1951, right at the beginning of the Cold War, the Atomic Age, and network television. TALES OF TOMORROW featured many of the era's top film stars, quality writing, and thought provoking episodes that paved the way for the science fiction series that followed, including THE TWILIGHT ZONE and THE OUTER LIMITS. Included here are three episodes: "All the Time in the World" (6/13/1952): Jack Warden stars in this episode about a mysterious time traveler who claims that there is an impending nuclear war and that he wants to send all the valuable works of art he can into the future to save them. Written by Arthur C. Clarke, the story was sold to the show for $400.00. "Past Tense" (4/3/1953): This episode stars Boris Karloff as a man who invents a time machine which he uses to go back in time and introduce Penicillin to the world before its discovery, thereby making himself rich. However, he is dismissed as insane and sent to a sanitarium where he contracts pneumonia which will kill him if he is not treated with Penicillin. "Another Chance" (2/13/1952): Leslie Nielsen stars as a thief whose wife leaves him after she learns all her jewelry is stolen. Promised another chance by a mysterious man, he is sent back in time to change his ways, which is much harder than he expected. [More]
