Critical Consensus: "Descent" and "Talledega" Leave "Listener" and "Barnyard" in the Dust
Summary
This week in movies, we've got tough chicks fighting for their lives ("The Descent"), a redneck racing saga ("Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby"), a psychological thriller starring Mork from Ork ("The Night Listener"), and farm animals who just wanna have fun ("Barnyard: The Original Party Animals"). Which flicks will get the critical seal of approval? Back to Article

FILMCZY writes: on Aug 04 2006 10:58 PM To all the critics who did not like THE DESCENT, I say shut-up and write your own damn horror movie and we'll see how well YOU do on RT! P.S. I sure hope Neil Marshall does not get sucked into the Hollywood void of horror films and sell out making some god-awful remake. Stay in Europe, keep your creativity and vision and don't get caught by the leeches tempting you with remakes like THE HILLS HAVE EYES and THE OMEN. (Reply to this) |

kickout2005 writes: on Aug 05 2006 05:27 AM just saw the descent, and it had some very good scares that made me jump up like no other horror film i've seen since the french High Tension and this film doesn't have the weak plot holes that High Tension did... Very scary, very fun and very gory... loved it (Reply to this) |

CrazyGhost78 writes: on Aug 06 2006 08:50 AM In reply to this comment (#841451) Too late. And to everyone bashing the critics who didn't like the Descent, they probably didn't like it because it was overrated. I thought it was going to be atmospheric and tense, but it was just jump-"scares" that are obviously going to startle you, and that doesn't count as scary, the plot was predictable, and both endings are complete cliche. I really, really wanted to like this film, but it was nothing but a let down. (Reply to this) |

FoxDragoon writes: on Aug 06 2006 02:44 PM In reply to this comment (#841451) Critics suck! "To all the critics who did not like THE DESCENT, I say shut-up and write your own damn horror movie and we'll see how well YOU do on RT!" Exactly. Because only after you have created a movie of your own are you qualified to review movies of that genre. The same logic applies to everything else you might criticize. If your refrigerator breaks down after a month, you have no right to criticize the manufacturers, simply shut up and build your own refrigerator and see how well you do! You also have no right to say Britney Spears is a horrible singer: you first have to become a highly recognized singer before you have the right to critize her. Obviously, critics have no right either, unless they make their own movies. Obviously. (Reply to this) |

Im confused, im scared to diss another movie again coz i havnt made any movies.. HELP SOMEONE! ;) (Reply to this) |
