Te doy mis ojos works with incredible force whilst remaining small and intimate at the same time. A small gem of a movie that deserves to be seen by many.

(...) La directora evita que su película se convierta en un panfleto feminista o, lo que hubiese sido peor, una explotación sensacionalista.

There's no melodrama anywhere in the film, only drama, with every single moment superbly acted and startlingly believable.

Wife-beating is a subject done to death but the deeply felt story and astonishing performances by the principal actress elevated this Goya-award-winning tale well above the rest.
