A comedy so unfunny that its biggest laugh comes when an actor (for the second time) takes a tennis ball to the groin.

The question the filmmaker is asking, perhaps of himself, is a legitimate one: How worthy is a life that consists of nondescript supporting film roles, a lousy TV show and a string of failed relationships?

It's saved from being too weird by the always charming Logue as well as hysterical performances by Stephen Dorff as a fakey country singer and Paul Rudd and Henry Thomas as over the top porn stars.
