"Terminator 4" Will Be Ahnold-Free

Screenwriter Michael Ferris isn't about to dole out too many spoilers regarding his "Terminator 4" script, but he recently made one thing perfectly clear: Arnold Schwarzenegger is most definitely not part of the equation.

From Cinescape: " According to "Terminator 4" co-writer Michael Ferris, don't expect to see Arnold Schwarzenegger in the upcoming "Terminator" film.

"Terminator 3" kind of closed the book on Schwarzenegger, as did his gubernatorial career," said Ferris in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Ferris also added that "You will learn about Skynet and what that postapocalyptic future is like."

Could care less about Nick Stahl, or flat-chested fugly Claire Danes. Those roles are so shallow anyone could play them. My only wish, when they finally do end this franchise, is Arnold makes a cameo when he first gets sent back in time. That would link all the films together....and then end the series forever. Unlike other sci-fi series, these films have remained pretty decent through all three. Even the Cameron-less part 3 was fun and had some amazing action.

I was always hoping this series would evolve beyond a Schwarzenegger vehicle. There's so much that can be done with it. I say abandon the whole John Conner storyline and go with something radically different. As long as we don't stray into any titles with "VS." in them.

Abandon the John Conner storyline? That's what the whole thing has been about!! This one has to show how John rose to power. I mean, the 3 other ones were really PREQUELS to the actual war; now were about to finally get there (i hope, anyway). Yeah, I hope Nick Stahl comes back he was good. Don't really care about Claire Danes. It would be cool if Arnold made a cameo at the end (of not necessarily this one, but the series) and went back in time to the begnning; it'd be a nice closer.

In my mind, the Terminator series lives and dies with James Cameron. Although part 3 wasn't bad, I felt it was unnecessary and kind of a rehash of Terminator 2. Arnold is too old to participate in these movies and only made T3 because his career was in the gutter and needed a hit movie. Plus, the studio was more than willing to milk the franchise. I don't see any creative reason for the Terminator series to continue. How many times can you do a story about a terminator trying to protect John Connor from another terminator? I know some of you say the series can focus on Connor's rise to power, but I don't think the story would be interesting or compelling enough to warrant a feature-length film. There are some movie series that only have enough story for one or two films and the Terminator series is one of them. The studio should do the right thing and let the franchise rest in peace. We don't need any prequels or sequels.

i think this movie should be about the war between human and machine with john conner being a character but not a main part of the storyline, and i hope it is like that, nick stahl was good enough but i thought they already said that he wasant coming back because this one will feature an older john conner but whatever, i still think that terminator 3 should have been about the war instead of an introduction.

Arnold or not, this is another franchise that should bite the dust, since it's already reached the point where it bites. I agree with the other comments that the only real intrigue left here is how monotonous morose, flat-chested Claire Danes continues to find work. Although I suppose if scrawny little Keri Russell can be a Mission Impossible agent, Dakota Fanning could turn out to be the next Terminator.

Maybe this sounds crazy but if the're going to do a Terminator 4 WE NEED MICHAEL BIEHN AS KYLE REESE, i don't care if it's too old or retired, but Kyle is a neccesity in the future war between mankind and machines. Arnold is not necessary (but still needs a cameo), but there's one one person to play Kyle Reese and that is Michael Biehn

Man you guys are harsh. Maybe Claire Danes isn't any Pamela Anderson, but come on, she can be a good actress . . . T3 wasn't her shining moment, I'll admit, but didn't you all like "My So-Called Life"? I thought that was the most realistic high school drama I've ever seen. She's only "morose" because too many shallow dogs like you have criticized her and ignored her talent. It's true she hasn't done much lately . . . maybe she's recovering from implant surgery to satisfy you drooling Neanderthals.

As for Dakota Fanning as the new Terminator, that's definitely a good idea, but personally I'd rather see Linsey Lohan as the unstoppable robot killer with perhaps Hillary Duff as the other robot, the protector. Let's watch them incinerate each other for the good of humanity.
