Jurassic Park T-Rex, Life-Sized Terminator, More Up For Auction

Just in time for the holidays!

This Christmas, we're asking Santa for Sam Jackson's Star Wars: Episode III lightsaber, Neo's Matrix Reloaded coat, and a full scale T-800 Terminator 2 endoskeleton for that little nook in the foyer. See what else is up for sale at this year's Profiles in History auction!

L.A. auction house Profiles in History is offering a bounty of great memorabilia for the discerning moviegoer on your shopping list. The two-day sale, which begins today, includes over 1200 pieces of Hollywood collectibles -- unique pieces to activate the salivary glands of your favorite geek (Jean-Luc Picard's captain's chair), amateur dino-ologist (a life-sized Velociraptor head!), or Old Hollywood fetishist (Marilyn Monroe's prescription bottles!).

Of course, these are real collector's items so you might be looking at some hefty price tags. This full-scale T-Rex head, used onscreen in Jurassic Park, is priced at an estimated $60,000-$80,000. Only two heads were built for the movie; at over six feet tall, this is the stunt head used to film Jurassic Park's awesome lawyer-munching paddock attack -- one of the coolest rampages in cinematic history, and a memorable hallmark of the film's CG artistry.

The big-ticket items are set for auction Friday, December 14; for more affordable pieces of Hollywood history, check out the lots on display today -- signed photographs of Tinseltown legends like Charlie Chaplin and Cecil B. DeMille, and hundreds of original scripts and artwork from some of the best-loved films ever made. For the low, low starting price of $200-$300, we've got our eyes on the March, 1 1971 second draft script of The Godfather (Lot #255), Walt Disney's personal script for Cinderella (Lot #180), and a one-sheet for Universal's 1959 horror pic, 4D Man (Lot #345)!

Disney's personal Cinderella script, with handwritten notes. Click for higher res images here, here and here.

You can peruse the massive collection yourself in the Profiles in History catalog, but we've selected a few jaw-droppingly awesome items for your browsing pleasure. Enjoy! (And remember, there's plenty of room in the RT offices for an anonymously gifted Velociraptor head...)

Bullitt three-sheet poster (Lot #472), $1,500-$3,000

Three times the size of a regulation poster, and infinitely cooler.

"A stunning and exceedingly rare poster from this Steve McQueen classic, which is the epitome of 1960s cool. The colors are as vibrant as the day this poster was printed. Condition: A, on linen. This poster was never used or displayed."

Jezebel six-sheet poster (Lot #470), $20,000-$30,000

The multiple-Oscar nominated 1939 film, for which Bette Davis won Best Actress.

"This is the best poster for the film, and the only known copy in the world! Very Fine, on linen."

Marilyn Monroe's prescription medication bottle for Phenobarbitol (Lot #911), $1,000-$1,500

One of three prescription bottles in the auction issued to Monroe.

"Marilyn Monroe personal prescription medication bottle measuring 2 1/2 in. tall from the Canfield Corner Pharmacy, North Woodbury, Connecticut. There is no date or doctor listed on the label."

Michael Keaton's Batman Returns cowl (Lot #1013), $8,000-$10,000

Also see the "mildly discolored" Chris O'Donnell Robin outfit from Batman Forever.

"Original screen-used hero cowl of black rubber with stylized pointed bat ears and integral mask. The rubber remains supple and is in fine condition."

Alien costume with mask from Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Lot #939), $3,000-$5,000

Did someone say Halloween 2008?

"Gold spandex leotard measuring 33 in. in length with a zipper up the back and a rubber alien mask with eye, mouth and nose holes and 1 in. thick foam inside and Velcro up the back side for closure."

Paul Reubens' signature two-piece suit and bow tie from Pee-wee's Big Adventure (Lot #988), $2,000-$3,000

Did someone say Halloween 2008?

"This signature costume includes a red satin bow tie, a white button down short sleeve dress shirt and a gray suit consisting of a jacket and pants. The gray pair of pants measures 39 in. in length and has a tag reading, 'Warner Bros. Pictures Inc.' with 'Paul Reubens' handwritten in faded black ink."

Crazy 88 mask from Kill Bill Vol. 1 (Lot #1103), $800-$1,000

The most deceptively simple item in the auction...

"The mask is made of foam and has a bit of blood on the inside from filming...Only a few of these masks survived after filming due to the strenuous stunts and massive amounts of blood spray." [Editor's note: AWESOME.]

The TREX head is awsome, but wont they need that for JP4?
The Batman cowl is also awsome, and i prefer that to the Begins/dark knight cowl.

The Close encounters suit, is horrendous! Goes to show what diffrence good lighting does for a movie. Hope they dont reuse THAT for the rumoured INDY4 cameo.
