Recalling the scenes of the future from T-1, it will be cool to see them bring that to the screen with CGI. IMO, Vin Diesel's as good a choice as anyone for a series that isn't likely to impress the critics and who knows we may like it anyway. (Reply to this) |

You've already failed by getting McG to direct. His resume speaks volumes of the word failure! Why do you need to have Vin as the Terminator? You don't need any actors for it. Have the endo-skeletons fight the war as we have seem several times before. It's not that complicated! Vin being a soldier for John Connor makes more sense. (Reply to this) |

I'm not believe McG even understands what a good movie is and I don't believe he's capable of making one. John Mctiernan, David Cronenberg, Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, John Carpenter, Paul Verhoven, Kathryn Bigelow, John Milius or even Stan Winston... Out of all the directors out there, why would they even consider McG to make a terminator sequel? Are those guys at Halcyon trying to kill their company and ruin the terminator saga by making the worst sequel ever? This is very bad news. (Reply to this) |

renodc writes: on Oct 04 2007 09:59 AM Instead of this being an origin story, I would much rather see an older John Conner find a way to prevent the Machines from travelling into the past, and ultimately have one large final push in the war to put a definitive end to this series. They've milked this franchise creatively as much as they possibly can. (Reply to this) |

T-3 ruined the franchise and T-4 with Vin and McG looks to turn it into a laughingstock. With Rob Cohen ruining The Mummy. Mcg and Johnathan Mostow ruining The Termintor. Joe Johnson ruined Jurrasic Park. rgallitan writes: on Oct 04 2007 11:26 AM I gotta give them credit for making the "Planet of the Apes" connection. Of course, none of the "Apes" sequels were very good, but they did find an equilibrium of badness that's enjoyable for people who like that sort of thing. Most franchises - keep in mind - only get worse over the first 3-4 movies. By that point they've either collapsed completely, or hit a tolerable, maintainable stride that they can carry as long as they want. It looks like Terminator could follow in that tradition. I won't watch it, but I'm not angry about it either. (Reply to this) |

Jaws is still very much a classic, thankyouverymuch, no matter what horrors befell the series at SeaWorld. Psycho's place in history has been untarnished by its three sequels. And Cameron's Terminator films will be remembered fondly long after this new, parasitic franchise has been forgotten. (Reply to this) |

Mr Diesil i could live with , i mean he has to play a robot and his acting has been compared to a robot so i think he would be fine , Though i think using Vin is just a cop out of every one who is looking for a "Buff" dude to be in a movie ... Why not look around for someone else to be a Terminator , I Personally think Wentworth Miller from Prison Break could totally pull this off , not to mention all the new fans and female fans you might snag with casting him . Also i think Gerard Butler could pull the look off and he has the acting chops to play a Terminator ... Anyway thats just my thoughts , McG is trash and if he is involved we can alreay write this movie off ... (Reply to this) |

Granted, it wasn't Terminator 2-awesome, but it wasn't Charlie's Angels-crap either. #2) Vin Diesel? Um... No. They think they can throw a wooden actor into Arnold's shoes, and that will help the situation. It won't. Just because Vin lacks fluctuation in vocal tone doesn't mean he is a good replacement. #3) McG? Why? Do they hate us? He made Charlie's Angels. He produced Stay Alive. Nuff said. Now, it doesn't have Cameroon and it doesn't have Arnold and who is replacing Arnold? Vin Diesel? ****!! AcE! writes: on Oct 06 2007 08:14 PM What the hell is going on with all these big budget or highly popular films? Every movie that people have been hyped for or hoped to be good has ended up with a terrible director and then proceeded to royally suck or dissapoint. Transformers-Michael Bay. Xmen 3-Brett Ratner. Daredevil-That Mark guy whats his name. Other movies like Elektra, I dont even know who did that one but they suck too. AVP had to end up with Paul W.S. Anderson. Ugh. Fantastic 4/2RotSS- Tim Story. AGAIN? What the crap why would you get a person who normally directs bad comedies to do a super hero epic? The halo movie's got a no name and those shorts are absolutely awful. And now terminators joining the bunch. A movie that lots of people would love to see succeed and be a great film, but alas it ends up with a lackluster director probably doomed to fail. tabascoman77 writes: on Oct 07 2007 10:36 AM Probably just another stupid rumor. I would think that Hollywood execs would be to smart to hire McG for ANYTHING after "Charlie's Angels Full Throttle" and "Fastlane". The Vin Diesel bit also sounds like somebody's just trying to start a rumor as a bad joke. I would think The Rock would make a better Terminator, myself. He's got the frame, the look, and that badass demeanor. But, if all of what they're saying is true and studio execs truly wanna make a piece of ****, they should just go the full nine and top the movie off with Don Rickles and Jamie Kennedy with Lindsay Lohan in the female lead and Britney Spears performing both the score AND singing a new "hit song". She could even dance around with lasers zinging past her head while she dry humps and pole-dances on a T-800 and has simulated sex with a T-1000 that keeps switching between being a chick and a dude. Hell, I'm sure Nancy Meyers would be happy to direct since she's the queen of train wrecks. And, if they're not too busy, maybe we can have a combination of writers from, say, the remakes of The Longest Yard and The Stepford Wives. I smell huge box office. (Reply to this) |

And to be honest, if Vin's gonna be in it, he should be a soldier in the resistance. It would just be more interesting. Lukemitch25 writes: on Oct 09 2007 02:24 AM First of all, the series died when they cut Jim Cameron out of the loop. Second of all, if they are going to redeem anything from that POS Terminator 3, they'll need to center this story around Kyle Reese. I pictured the third film about John trying to keep his father safe from a machine sent back to kill him. Wouldn't that have been a beautiful full circle? They need to show us all of the gadgets, gizmos, and situations awaiting John or his father in the future. They need to remember that the original infiltration units were very easy to spot. They won't have sweat glands. They should look like plastic. They need to really go back, and actually read Cameron's original screenplay. They need a better understanding of the Terminator universe. Lukemitch25 writes: on Oct 09 2007 02:46 AM In reply to this comment (#1175865) And, I'm sorry, but Terminator 3 rocked?? I didn't just read that. I couldn't have. I mean, "She'll be back"? "Talk to the hand"? Give me a break. That takes me back to the Elton John glasses gag. Cameron was pushing limits when he threw in the wonderful sunglasses gag in T2, but the Elton John thing was an insult, through and through. And the bit with the keys in the visor? WTF? It didn't make sense in any, way, shape or form in the Terminator franchise. Cameron would've made us say, "My God!" as he's always done. T3 made everyone in the theater practically sick from its blatant stupidity and copy format. It copies almost everything great in The Terminator and Terminator 2, and stupifies it all. The bottom line is Cameron's two Terminator films will stand the test of time, but everything from T3 on will be as forgettable as the Planet of the Apes sequels. Does anyone even remember what they were about or who was in them? Hey, anyone see Cameron's T2: 3-D? Boy, that was an awesome experience. The mini hunters were amazing. I sure will miss all of those wonderfully creative gizmos from James Cameron's original concepts. (Reply to this) |

Its going to suck because the thousands of fans have asked for the last 9-14 years for a post-apocalyptic battle sequences and some story based in the ruins of Los-Angeles. Perhaps a futuristic scene of the cavernous Skynet head-quarters production facility and Skynet time-travel machine with KYLE REESE jumping in it.
