Texas Chainsaw Reviews

A very stupid turn for this franchise. Leatherface is a cold blooded murderer and needs to be treated as such. He is not a character to feel sorry for.

Stupid and forgettable.

Nothing new is delivered in this horror film, and it doesn't stand out from any other horror film ever made.

The actual horror of "Texas Chainsaw 3D" is handled just as you'd expect. The jump scares are cheap and the blood looks fake. The dialogue is bad and the music is too over-bearing and obnoxious for its own good. Characters make the stupidest decisions that no real, rational human being would ever make. The inconsistencies and errors in the continuity that the movie tries to set up to continue telling the story is laughably slapdash. It's awesome that the filmmakers wanted to do something new and interesting - and quite creative - with a known story and a classic film persona - but they forgot they were making a horror movie, and the first thing anyone thinks about when they're watching a horror movie is whether or not it's scary; this just isn't, nor is it suspenseful or uniquely crafted enough to make any sort of remote impact.

this is not your regular horror film but a good plot none less the case overall is solid film to watch

I laughed a lot...you shouldn't be doing that at a horror movie. You'd think there would be nothing else new you could bring to a slasher film after 6 movies..and you're right. Nothing new is brought to the table, just stale copied recipes.

Another young and dumb slasher.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D is a refreshing journey back to Tobe Hooper's spine-chilling franchise, along with his iconic horror villain, Leatherface. It is filled with great 3-D special effects to capture the gore, but not enough to capture the scares.

Texas Chainsaw, (the latest attempt by a studio to revamp an old horror slasher franchise), is an absolute disgrace of a movie. From the cheesy opening scene to the lazy finale, Texas Chainsaw is an absolute joke. The movie tries to introduce the origins of Leatherface, but it just comes off as campy and corny. Also, the acting is some of the worst I've ever seen in a horror movie, the blood effects are awful, the entire movie feels rushed, and all of the scares are generic and tedious.
Avoid Texas Chainsaw unless you have 70 minutes to kill on Netflix.

what a shitty third act. the movie is actually decent up until this bitch starts finding out she has a long lost cousin (leatherface) really? who the fuck wrote the ending of this? and she inherits a house or some shit, somehow no one in this movie ages at all either.....the original took place in 73' which would make this 93' but the producers apparently cant do math....if it took place in 2013.....the main character would be 40yrs old not 20......

Not totally a waste of time, but it could've been better
will not even scare 3 year old. They will just laugh it off (kids nowadays)

Doesn't add much to the series, but it's quite entertaining.

A lazy script makes Texas Chainsaw a mediocre experience. May have it moments, but it's an unsatisfying Chainsaw movie.

Well the beggining of it was good, it started well until Leatherface kills most of the boys and he turns to be a good guy, if you are looking for gore watch it, but for plot, save your money and time.

We're supposed to feel sorry for the killers? 2014 logic

Although it does its job via blood, gore and slasher cliches, the movie is terrible in every other way.

A lot has been made of the attempt to make Leatherface into an anti hero. If one slasher icon can do it, it would be him. The movie is exciting and twisted. Sure I wish they had kept to the remake series but 3D is one of the best in the series.

Texas Chainsaw provides amazing scares, outstanding amount of gore, and the most suspense i have ever had in a horror movie, or ANY movie! This is my first time i saw a texas chainsaw movie, and since i adore horror movies, i thought i would give this movie/franchise a try. I was a little bit icky when i started watching it, since it had bad reviews. But after a couple of minutes, i just told myself "screw rotten tomatoes" and i enjoyed leather face ripping and killing the sh**t out of people. The reason it only has 4.5 stars out of 5 is because the story bothered me. I know its a serial killer movie, but i wanted it to get deeper. I wanted to learn about what was happening with ryan and nikki, since ryan had been dating heather. So heather had know idea what happened, and i wouldve loved it to get deeper, but still, this is a spectacular horror movie and it provides everything you want out of a horror movie.

this sequel of the classic texas chainsaw was pretty much enjoyfull...it was a lot different from the first movie but although it wasn't bad...not so scary exept from two or three points but generally a nice movie from John Luessenhop

Good premise 20 years later. But sadly, that's it. At least they cast Daddario and Raymonde! They're basically the only reasons the movie's worth watching.
