Total Recall: 3D Horror Films

Summary

January is traditionally known as a cinematic graveyard, so it's only appropriate that our local cineplexes are kicking off 2013 with something as death-obsessed as Texas Chainsaw 3D, the latest chapter in the seemingly never-ending saga of the cannibalistic lunatic Leatherface and his equally depraved family -- and the most recent in a growing list of slasher flicks to make use of Hollywood's on-again, off-again fascination with 3D technology. Of course, we couldn't help thinking of some previous entries in the genre, and you know what that means -- it's time to Total Recall, 3D horror style! Back to Article

Quite a few not mentioned. Silent Hill Revelation 3D was average, Final Destination 5 rocked in 3D, as did Shark Night. Underworld Awakening 3D was awesome, Prometheus in a way is a deep space horror, great movie but the 3D sucked. Priest 3D was great and Abe Lincoln Vamp Hunter was spectacular both in stunning 3D.

That pretty much covers it. I'm happy to see ROBOT MONSTER listed. DIAL M FOR MURDER was supposed to be in 3D but wasn't.

There were some limited 3D showings when it came out, and it was re-released in 3D in a few theaters during the early 80s revival.

I'm so tired of this 3-D gimmick...in fact, I was tired of it in the 80's before it died out again. Unless the 3-D is somehow going to enhance the plot, let it just die.

If you can come up with a plot that would be enhanced by 3D, it probably isn't a very good plot to begin with.

Umm... I liked Friday The 13th 3, and most of the rest of the series, except for 4, 5 and 7. I will say, however, that the first is the best one.

I really love horror movies, but i never will buy a 3D movie. It just sucks to put 3D glasses over your own glasses. I know some will say, buy contacts, but when your eyes aren't that bad (not bad enough for wearing contacts, but you can't see from far without glasses) it isn't just fun to wear those 3D glasses

I saw in the 80's Friday the 13th 3D in 3D and I had a good experience and since then I crave 3D movies native or converted as long as the latest is done wisely. I saw Beauty and the Beast and Lion King and 3D and they are amazing those who say othewise don't know what they are talking about. 3D is a new wsay to see movies like sound replace silent movie, like technicolor replace black and white and Dolby Stereo replace mono, Dolby Digital replace Dolby Stereo and now 3D replacing 2D movies. I don't beleive that any of the upgrades in the motion picture industries have ever added anything to any movie but there is only one word for it. It's called progress we just have to live with it. And with the release of Dial M for murder on BD3D and the future release of House of Wax on Blu-ray 3D we will be able to see these movies at home in glorious 3D and let's hope that Warner Home Video who now own the right of distribution of the Friday the 13Th will release the 3rd chapter in BD3D.

3D is stupid. I hope it is just a fad that goes away. I have yet to see ANY movie where the 3D enhanced my viewing experience. Personally, 3D takes me out of whatever I am watching; it is hard to get absorbed in a movie when you are constantly being reminded that you are watching a movie everytime something flies at the screen.
